Jet Fuel Surcharge added to China Domestic Flight Tickets
|
China National Development and Reform Commission and the General Administration of Civil Aviation of China (CAAC) have jointly decided on Tuesday July 26 that all passengers who take domestic flights within China will be required to pay from 20 Yuan (US $2.47) to 40 Yuan (US $4.93) as additional fees for jet fuel when buying domestic tickets after August 1, 2005. This action has been long expected and aims to help local airlines deal with the cost pressures brought by soaring jet fuel prices, International Finance News reported on Wednesday. Passengers who travel less than 800 km will pay an additional RMB 20, while those traveling more than 800 km will pay additional RMB 40. This policy is not applicable for flights to Hong Kong and Macao, as the airlines were authorized to levy additional fees in June this year. We will add this fee to our tour quotations so that our customers will not have to worry about this charge. Customers who have confirmed their bookings with us are still required to pay the additional fees besides the confirmed tour price. Your travel advisor will contact you for the details. Your understanding and cooperation on this matter will be highly appreciated.
