Travel Time from Lhasa to Chengdu to be Cut 3 Hours

Lhasa railway station will be launching a new train schedule after the sixth massive speed-up of China's railways starting from April 18. Since then, train travel time between Lhasa and Chengdu will be cut more than three hours, according to Qinghai-Tibet Railway Company.

The departure time will also alter depending on the new timetable. The train T24/1 leaving from Lhasa to Chengdu will depart at 10:45, later 1 hour and 40 minutes than the previous time, reach Golmud at 00:19 on the same day, get in Lanchow at 14:16 on the next day, and finally arrive in Chengdu at 8:25 on the third day. The whole running time will be shorten from 48 hours and 50 minutes to 45 hours and 40 minutes, saving more than three hours.

Meanwhile, the train T22/3 leaving from Chengdu to Lhasa will change its departure time from 18:18 to 20:36, and arrive in Lhasa at 17:21 on the third day, which may cause a 3 hours and 25 minutes' cut in running time.
