Lotus Peak in Mt. Huangshan Shuts out Visitors

The Lotus Peak of Mount Huangshan will be closed for three years from December 1st for biological protection. Lovers to the Mount will miss this highlighted spot during this period.

The Lotus Peak, with a height of 1,864 meter, is the highest peak in Mount Huangshan. The Peak takes a shape of a blooming lotus, hence the name. Since its open to the public in 1994, Lotus Peak saw millions of visitors, which  largely affected its natural vegetation and ecological environment. So the Management Committee of the scenic area decided to give it a break for recovery.
