Danba in Sichuan to hold the" Beauty Contest"
Danba in Ganzi Zang Autonomous Region in Southwest China's Sichuan Province will hold its annual "Beauty contest" in early August. The" Beauty Contest" also called "Jiarong Zang Ethnic Minority Folk Festival" is a traditional occasion for the Zang people in the region, which combines folk songs, dance, beauty contest, and the local wedding convention show.
According to an official from the Danba Travel Bureau, pretty girls selected during the event are honorably called "Golden Flower", "Silver Flower" and "Pomegranate Flower" to praise their overwhelming beauty.
Danba is nicknamed as"Beauty Valley" for its good-looking girls. Girls there have oval faces, with rosy cheeks, lustrous skin and their shiny long hairs reaches down the waists.
Another arrangement is tour to the remote ethnic villages in the deep mountains.
Jiarong Zang Minority group mainly lives in the mountainous area in the eastern part of Ganzi Zang Autonomous Region. Aside the beautiful girls, the self-making fragrant wine using the local materials and in a complicated process that keeps unknown to the outside world makes the place well known throughout China.
