Renovations are underway at parts of the Chengdu - Wolong Highway, which may cause inconvenience to visitors. These renovations will continue for more than half a year to next August. The road condition is a bit disappointed and you are advised to avoid visiting the area during this period.

Wolong lies about 140 kilometers northwest of Chengdu about 4 hours' drive. The Wolong Nature Reserve is the largest of the 16 reserves set up by the Chinese government for panda conservation. The UN has designated Wolong an International Biosphere Preserve.
