Dagu Ancient Glaciers to open to tourists in August

The Dagu Ancient Glacier Scenic Area will open to travelers after having been constructed for 3 years under a huge invest of 810 million RMB( 104 million USD), according to Zhangyufeng, head of the Dagu Ancient Glaciers Administration Office in Aba Zang and Qiang Autonomous Region in Southwest China's Sichuan Province.  

Zhang added, Dagu Ancient Glaciers will be the third mayor enchanting sight that the region offers after Jiuzhaigou Valley and Huanglong National Park.    

Dagu Ancient Glaciers Scenic Area is located at the Heshui(Black Water) County. Covering an area of 632 square kilometer (210 square meters will open to the public), it's renowned as the glittering pearl embedded in the region. The area contains 13 modern mountainous glaciers, making up 6.04 square meters, among which the largest one is 1,600 meters long, with a thickness of 60 meters and occupies an area of 1,1 square kilometers. 

Multi-featured topography formed by eons of ice erosion such as U-shaped ice cirque, moraine lake, thrive in the over-200 square kilometers. The biggest moraine lake, dongcuoyuehai Lake measures 1,800 meters long from west to east and expands 300 meters wide from north to south.
