The world's highest national park, Mount Everest National Park in Tibet, opened to the public last week.

Five mountain peaks with altitudes over 8,000 meters, including 8,848-meter-high Mount Everest, are within this park. Plenty of beautiful valleys, ethnic culture zones, snow-blanketed forests, and hot springs are also included in the park. Mount Everest National Park is the third national park established in Tibet, following Namtso National Park and Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon National Park.

Tibet is one of the most popular tourist destinations in China. Stunning natural landscapes (like Namtso Lake), together with ethnic and Buddhist culture sites (such as the Potala Palace), attract thousands of visitors every year.
