Shanghai–Lhasa DIRECT Temporary Flight Service July 1st–27th

China Eastern Airlines will operate a temporary direct flight service connecting Shanghai and Lhasa from July 1st to 27th, 2013, to deal with high demand. The new Shanghai–Lhasa non-stop route will offer six weekly airbus A330-200 flights, numbered MU2259/MU2260.

Big time and convenience savings: At present, Shanghai to Lhasa flights need to make a stopover in Chengdu/Chongqing/Xi’an, and the whole flight trip usually takes about seven hours. When the new flight service opens, it will take only about five hours to fly to Lhasa from Shanghai Pudong International Airport, saving about two hours. The return flight will take less than four hours from Lhasa Gonggar Airport to Shanghai.

Expected Schedule

  • Shanghai Pudong 07:00–12:05 Lhasa
  • Lhasa 13:05–16:55 Shanghai Pudong
  • No flights on Wednesdays

Make your Tibet Dreams Come True

July is a fine time for a visit to Tibet. Make your Tibet dreams come true a little easier this July with this limited period offer. (We don’t know if/when China Eastern will again offer this service.)
