First Shanghai-Lhasa Train Tickets Sold out
All sleeper tickets for the first train to leave
The train will depart on October 1, the first day of the National Day holiday.
Expected long queues outside the Shanghai Railway Station did not materialize early yesterday morning. However, a dozen eager people waited to compete for the debut tickets and rushed into the ticket hall when doors opened at 8am.

Sleeper tickets for the October 1 trip were gone in 10 minutes.
The train can hold 863 people and has more than 400 sleeper berths. Railway authorities said as of yesterday afternoon there were only a few hard seat tickets left for the October 1 train.
