Standard Translation Version for Signs Come Out
Tourists are no longer to confuse the variety versions of translation of tourist attractions. The Organizing Committee of Beijing Speaks Foreign Languages Program recently organized experts to translate the signs in main scenic areas, and the work now has been accomplished.
According to the person in charge of Beijing Tourism Administration, the work of translation was done extremely carefully. The introductions of main scenic areas of 18 districts and counties have been retranslated, so did the name of main scenic spots. Notice to visitors and ticket buying information have also been standardized according to different characteristics of different scenic area. Meanwhile,a commonly used English version of signs is listed alone to offer to the public. At present, the experts’ version of signs of scenic areas has been published in the official website of Municipality Tourism Administration and other websites, and each scenic spots can download it directly.
