According to the latest information, the Grand World of Ice and Snow will enlarge its area to 600,000 square meters (0.23 square miles) from 400,000 square meters (0.15 square miles), and it will move to the north of the Sun Island Scenic Spot from former site.

The 27th Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival will be open on January 5, 2011 and lasts to February 17, 2011 (That day is the Chinese Lantern Festival in 2011.). From December 20, 2010, the site of the festival is available to be visited.

The whole Heilongjiang Province is ready to bring tourists a great tour with ice and snow, and there are three highlights in this winter: 1) Harbin City is going to be a ‘large scenic spot’ with ice and snow; 2) Beiji Village (literally means ‘the Arctic Pole Village’) in Mohe County is to be a ‘Chinese Snow Village’ or a ‘Christmas Garden in Beiji’ with ice and snow paradise and trips together with Father Christmas carriage on snowfield; 3) in Volga Manor, Harbin City, there will be a Vasaloppet opening on December 31, 2010 and lasting two months.
