Famous tourist cities in Yunnan are free from flood affection

Continuous torrential rainfall during the last week has triggered floods, landslides and mud flows in China's southwest Yunnan Province affecting thousands of people, leaving 59 dead.

The western and southern parts of the province are more seriously affected, which include Yingjiang County, Pu'er City, Dehong prefecture, Lincang City, Tengchong and Wenshan Regions with the Wenshan region most seriously hit.

Meanwhile, a 176-kilometer highway linking Tengchong region and Myanmar's Myitkyina had been blocked by mud-rock flows, a local official confirmed on Saturday.

Fortunately, the famous tourist cities including Kunming, Dali, Lijiang and Shangri-la are little affected and there is no report of any traveling obstacles caused by heavy rains currently.
