First Bathing Beach

The first bathing beach is located around Huiquan Bend of Qingdao. The beach stretches a length of 580 meters or so with width of about 40 meters. The first bathing beach is surrounded  by mountains on three sides. In the area modern buildings and traditional villas are blended together to make a beautiful scene.  The first bathing beach is the best of its kind in Qingdao. It is famous for its gentle slopes,thin sands, clear water, and calm waves. Because of the erosion and the accumulation by sea waves , rocks around the Bend have been eroded into thin grits continuously and the eroded grits are accumulated along the beach of the bend into a beach of full silver sands. Under the function of the resistance force of Huiquan corner the waves which goes into the Bend decline gradually and at last, a calm sea with only an about meter high of billowing is developed about here. The smooth sea is very suitable for sea entertainment activities. There are 52 bathing boxes totallly of two kinds. One is on the ground .The other is under the ground. The main décor materials of the bathing boxes on the ground are  made of wood, which is a characteristic of German style in old colonial time . The area of the bathing boxes under the ground is about  square 2000 meters. And all the bathing boxes under the ground are decorated with lighting clearstory on the roof. And there are large rest halls for swimmers with refreshments. There are service offices of the first bathing beach, showering compartment, toilet and other public facilities. The first bathing beach can hold 200,000 people to come here to swim.
