Are prices at the cybermart comparable to the USA or less expensive?
It is difficult to define, because bargaining is needed if you purchase products in the mart. According to some feedbacks on the internet, many people do not recommend customers to shop in the mart, because the management of the mart is really unordered. The most recommended place for shopping electronic products in Shanghai is Best Buy (百思买), and the largest one is located in Floor 3, Zhengda Square, 168 Lujiazui Road, Pudong New District (浦东新区陆家嘴西路168号正大广场3楼). Most of the locations described on these websites for shopping are very expensive. These places are mostly for foreigners to be ripped off. Locals usually do not shop at these areas, as far as I can see in Shanghai. If you are not visiting Shanghai for shopping, my advice is just go there, see and experience the environment, but do not buy. If you really want to buy, start negotiating at a very low price. they are more experienced than you. you will end up paying a lot than the real price anyway. guest Replied on 2012-07-06
