You will visit two ancient towns in Shanghai, Zhujiajiao and the Seven Treasures Town. Zhujiajiao is located in the suburb of Shanghai, with a history of more than 1,700 years. It is one of the best-preserved ancient towns in Shanghai. The Seven Treasures Town was built in the Northern Song Dynasty and grew into a prosperous business center during the Ming and Qing Dynasties.

Zhujiajiao Ancient Town

Your guide will pick you up at 8:30am around at your hotel. Then head out for nearly 50 minutes drive westwards to Qingpu, where the town locates.

Zhujiajiao ancient town is a town with over 1,000 years of history featuring rivers, bridges, old streets and gardens. Small rivers crisscross the town with 36 old bridges on them. Over 1,000 houses first built in Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911) stand along both sides of nine narrow streets. There are famous sights like Fangsheng Bridge, Baoguo Temple, Town God's Temple and Zhuxi Garden, offering different kinds of photo opportunities.

Highlight of the tour includes a traditional sampan ride on the canals. Then you will have lunch in a local restaurant in the town. Transfer Seven Treasures Town which is famous for its old streets. We will be drive to Shanghai in the later afternoon.

After stayed in Shanghai for one day, I went to Zhujiajiao Town and Seven Treasures Town. These two ancient towns are beautiful. Food delicious. Boating on the rivers around the town was excellent.

I like the two ancient water towns. Rivers, bridges and local residential houses are all beatiful. You can experience the ancient around on the boat. And also, you shouldn't miss local food.
