Shanghai is the middle point of China’s north-south coastline and the largest port city in China, connecting China’s shipping system of seam river and freshwater. Ships sailing from Shanghai can reach more than 400 ports in the world. Due to the speed is too slow, manly long-distance sea routes and river routes have been closed. However, some liners are still available, including liners to nearby areas (Nantong City in Jiangsu Province, Dinghai, Zhoushan City and Putuo Mountain in Zhejiang Province and some cities along the Yangze River) and cities in Japan and South Korea.

Shanghai to Mountain Putuo Cruise
There is one ship sailing from Shanghai to Putuo Mountain each day. This sailing route is frequently used by travelers, as it is a very comfortable way to travel to Putuo Mountain from Shanghai. Putuo Mountain is located on the island, one of the Four Sacred Mountains of Buddhism. There are a number of temples on Mount Putuo.
