Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Beijing

Meet your guide and driver at the airport and get transferred to your hotel for a rest after your journey.

Day 2: Beijing: The Major Attractions

Today you get the feeling of what life of an ancient Chinese emperor was like, heading to the heart of Beijing. Our first stop is Tiananmen Square, followed by the impressive Forbidden City.
On the way to the Temple of Heaven, where the emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties prayed for peace and harvest, you will have a chance to glimpse at the Chinese traditional medicine culture.
After Chinese lunch in a local restaurant, visit the Summer Palace, the place where the imperial family used to escape the heat of the city. Located in a charming garden featuring hills and lakes.

 
Day 3: Beijing: Great Wall and overnight train to Xian

Today’s tour starts with the 500 year old imperial Ming Tombs.
The afternoon is dedicated to the Badaling Great Wall, you may either hike up which takes 2 hours or take the cable car. The cable car is a good choice to get you on the wall fast, maximizing your time on this iconic sight.

On the way back, catch a glimpse of the Olympic Green, the National Stadium – “the Bird’s Nest" and National Aquatics Center – “the Water Cube”. After a chance to appreciate the art of making silk, you are taken back to your hotel and then picked up after dinner for the overnight train to Xian.

 
Day 4: Overnight train to Xi'an and Ancient Culture of Xi'an

In the morning you arrive in Xi'an ready to explore the wonderful sights of this world famous city. You will be transferred to your hotel and later picked up for a half day tour.
Tour includes Shaanxi Historical Museum, Wild Goose Pagoda, and ancient Islamic mosques.

 
Day 5: Xi'an: Terracotta Army and overnight train to Shanghai

The highlight of a China visit for many is the Terracotta Army. The life-sized warriors are each different; some say they must have been modeled after real people, each with an individual trait.
After a Chinese lunch, you stop at the lesser known but very interesting Banpo site, an ancient village grounds, where thousands of years old objects have been discovered. A chance to see and learn about the archaeological dig.

 
Day 6: Arrive to Shanghai

You will be transferred to your hotel from the train station, after which the rest of the day is your own to explore. We recommend a stroll along the Bund at night, always a memorable sight.

 
Day 7: Modern and Old Shanghai
Tour to Yuyuan Garden

On today’s tour the beautiful Yu Garden is followed by the Bund, the Jade Buddha Temple, the People's Square and the Shanghai Museum, claimed to be the best museum in China.
Your final destination is Xintiandi, where old residences have been transformed into cafes, shops and restaurants.

 
Day 8: Depart Shanghai

Our guide and driver will take you all the way to the airport, so you can rest assured that you will arrive in time for your flight, and will get to the correct gate.
