China World Heritage Tours

UNESCO has listed 41 sites in China as World Heritage sites. Our China World heritage Tours allow you to discover what makes each unique and beautiful.

China has a rich cultural and natural heritage to share with the rest of the world. In 1987 the first World heritage site was added to the register by UNESCO and since then the list has steadily grown to 41. The sites are made up of 29 sites listed for their cultural heritage, 8 for their natural heritage qualities and 4 are mixed natural and cultural heritage. Some of these sites are some of the most recognizable depictions of China like the Great Wall, the Forbidden City and the Terracotta Warriors. Others like the Danxia landform are just as spectacular in their own way but maybe less recognizable to those outside China.

The Great Wall of China (Year of Recognition: 1987)

The Unique man-made scenery can be seen on the moon and it was built 7th century B.C.

The Forbidden City (Year of Recognition: 1987)

The best preserved imperial palace in China and the largest ancient palatial structure in the world.

Temple of Heaven (Year of Recognition: 1998)

It is seen as the most holy temples and described as "a masterpiece of architecture and landscape design".

Potala Palace (Year of Recognition: 1994)

It is a huge treasure house of materials and articles from Tibetan history, religion, culture and art.

Mountain Tai (Year of Recognition: 1987)

Well-known for the temples on its slopes have been a destination for pilgrims for 3,000 years.

Jiuzhaigou (Year of Recognition: 1992)

Jiuzhaiguo means ‘Valley of the Nine Villages’, and the nine villages remain spread around the valley within the Park, home to about 110 Tibetan and Qiang families.

Mogao Grotto (Year of Recognition: 1987)

Praised as "a glittering pearl that adorns the Silk Road", whcih are the most famous grottoes in China

Hongcun Village (Year of Recognition: 2000)

It was enlarged to the shape of the Taiyi elephant at that time, it was acclaimed as Hongcun.

Yellow Mountain (Year of Recognition: 1990)

It was one of the first Key National-Level Scenic Resorts and is also a world class tourist attraction.

Suzhou Garden (Year of Recognition: 1997)

Well-known for oddly-shaped rocks and deep caves which was built hundreds years ago in the Yuan Dynasty.
