Standing in the Tiananmen Square makes you truly appreciate the epic proportions of this center of Beijing. The Gate of Heavenly Peace leads to the imposing Forbidden City, a maze of courtyards and halls. Treasure Houses within are filled with precious objects from the Qing Dynasty, many of them never exhibited before. Your guide ensures you get the most of your experience; the complex is so vast that even a whole day isn’t enough to see everything.
For lunch you will head towards the Hutongs and Courtyard 7 Restaurant, well known for its delicious French cuisine and traditional courtyard design. Our Tour of the Hutongs continues through the ever rarer narrowing alleyways to a local family’s home for a visit, and then on to the Silver Ingot Bridge.
Mutianyu section of the Great Wall is the most popular after Badaling, but actually has much grander views, and more watch towers. A cable car takes you to the top and for the way down you can choose between cable car, chairlift and tobogganing.
The restaurant near the Wall we have chosen for our customers consistently gets brilliant reviews for delicious food.
Temple of Heaven is actually a complex of circular buildings used in ancient times for annual offerings for good harvest. Its grandeur is sure to impress, and the surrounding park is very interesting in itself as locals come here to exercise and have a good time.
Your guide will take you to the airport to catch your flight to Guilin, where you will be picked up and taken to lunch and then to marvel at the natural wonders of the karst scenery: Reed Flute Cave, Elephant Trunk Hill and Fubo Hill.
Guilin is a gateway to many minority areas, Longsheng is one of them. The Longji Terraces in the area were carved on the mountain sides over centuries, making the most of the scarce arable land. The Zhuang and Yao people here still build their houses in the ancient way, without nails. The rice fields are especially beautiful in early June, when the spring planting has finished.
Good to Know:
There is a climb to the top of the mountain range, but locals operate sedan chairs. A newly opened cable car (enclosed four person car) on the other side of the mountain is also available; if you would prefer this method, we can customize the trip for you.
The Li River Cruise takes you right in the middle of the mysterious mountains that have made this area the subject of so many paintings and poems.
After arrival to Yangshuo a bicycle ride / eCart takes you out of the busy town streets into the country lanes and paddy fields. The highlight is a visit to a local farming family, to have a chat and some refreshments.
Your guide will meet you at the hotel and take you to the airport to ensure you can relax until the last moment. We’re sure you will enjoy every moment of this tour, because it’s our goal you come back for more!
