A private guide and driver will pick you up from the airport to make sure you get the most out of your four days in Mongolia.
First you explore Ulan Bator: Gandan Monastery, the most important center for Buddhists in Mongolia. The monks perform some enchanting ceremonies, starting at around 10 a.m. The building itself resembles remarkably Tibetan monasteries.
Fine Art Museum (Zanabazaar Museum) has artifacts from the Stone Age to the 20th Century. Zanabazaar was an artist who has been called the Michelangelo of Asia, and his works form the greatest part of the exhibition, hence the secondary name of the museum, Zanabazaar Museum.
After a traditional Mongolian breakfast you will explore the Gorkhi Terelji National Park on horseback if you like, or walking, if you would prefer. The park has bears and other wild life and some famous rock formations: Turtle Rock and the Old Man Reading a Book (Praying Lama Rock).
This morning your guide will take you back to Ulan Bator in a private car to explore some of the heritage there. The Natural History Museum and Choijin Lama Museum give an insight into the whole society and surrounding nature; they are so intertwined in this wild land that it is impossible to understand one without the other.
This evening you will sleep in the comfort of a hotel bed.
