Day 1: Arrive in Hong Kong

Your vacation will get off to a wonderful start with the complimentary pick up service from the arrivals hall all the way to your hotel.

Day 2: Hong Kong: Victoria Peak, Aberdeen, Repulse Bay

Your own guide and driver will collect you from your hotel and take you for a tour of the essentials on the Hong Kong Island, starting with the iconic Victoria Peak where visitors have surveyed the skyline for over a century. The Peak Tram is part of the experience; the charming wooden carriages bring an air of old world to this gleaming city.

Aberdeen Harbor offers very reasonable sampan rides to see the historic area where expats and fishermen alike live on houseboats. Repulse Bay is the last stop, one of Hong Kong's most exclusive residential areas, which has a lovely sand beach available for all to enjoy; you can continue your day with a picnic by the sea.

Day 3: Flight to Guilin

Your flight takes you to the picturesque Guilin, the gateway to minority areas and stunning scenery.

Day 4: Guilin: Minority Village, Longsheng Terraced Field

The Longji Terraces were carved out of the mountainsides over centuries, creating a manmade wonder in the Longsheng area. The houses in the Zhuang and Yao minority villages are still built in the old way, without nails, and the people wear their traditional clothing.

Day 5: Li River Cruise, Moon Hill

The scenery along the Li River has been the subject of many poems and paintings along the centuries, the strange mountain peaks rising among bamboo forests at times half hiding in the mist, other times glistening in the sun.

The cruise ends in Yangshuo, a lively small town where you will spend the night. Moon Hill is a unique archway formed by a cliff near the town, a favorite of visitors worldwide. If you would like to cycle here we can also arrange it, just tell your guide.

Day 6: Guilin: Reed Flute Cave, Elephant Trunk Hill

In the morning your guide takes you back to Guilin to visit Reed Flute Cave with its magnificent stalactites and stalagmites, and Elephant Trunk Hill, the symbol of Guilin, before heading to the airport for your flight to Kunming, the spring city of China.

Day 7: Kunming: Stone Forest, Black Dragon Pool

The Stone Forest is a unique natural formation of craggy rocks, created by millennia of erosion. The area is the home of Sani minority group, who welcome you with their songs and dances to visit their land.

Black Dragon Pool has a spring that keeps the water fresh even in times of drought, and has a colorful collection of koi carp. You might not recognize the name but it's an iconic lake and bridge with a spectacular snow caped mountain backdrop that features in tourism material. In this park you will find ancient trees encircling this charming park, and the plum garden nearby is awash with blooms each spring.

Day 8: Flight to Lijiang, Lijiang Ancient Town, Mufu Wood Mansion

A short flight takes you to Lijiang, and to admire the Ancient Town, where the canals and graceful stone bridges crisscross the cobble streets.

The Mufu Wood Mansion is a replica of the original palace that once stood here, said to have been grand enough to rival the Forbidden City. The architecture is particularly charming, combining Ming Dynasty style with local Naxi people’s skills, and the location has stunning views over the town.

Day 9: Lijiang: Jade Dragon Mountain, Baisha Murals, Shuhe Ancient Town

The Jade Dragon Mountain is the backdrop to Lijiang, sparkling in the distance. This morning on drive there to enjoy the paradise above the clouds you will also visit Baisha Village with its famous thousand year old murals, painted as a rare combination of Han, Tibetan and Naxi cultures.
Shuhe Ancient Town, also known as Longquan Village, has a lovely temple complex to explore as well as a more lively main street area.

Day 10: Flight to Chongqing, Three Gorges Museum, Ciqikou Old Town

The unforgettable Yangtze is waiting, so a flight to Chongqing takes you closer. Three Gorges Museum gives an overview of the building of the dam, and Ciqikou Old Town shows what a local community with its narrow alleyways and old buildings is like, before our guide takes you to board the cruise boat.

Day 11: Yangtze: Shibaozhai, Welcoming Banquet & Dancing

Shibaozhai is a graceful Qing Dynasty pagoda, built to hug the mountainside. It is now protected by a small dam, to stop it being submerged.
Optional tour to Fengdu Ghost City takes you to marvel at the eerie compound, according to legends where the King of the Dead lives.

Day 12: Yangtze: Qutang Gorge, Wu Gorge, Shennong Stream

Today you will slowly pass through Qutang Gorge and Wu Gorge, and enjoy the stunning scenery. A shore excursion to Shennong Stream lets you enjoy the waterfalls and glistening streams closer by, admiring the steep cliffs and wildlife on the way. Visiting White Emperor City is optional, the old town is now partially under water, but the upper cliffs have ancient buildings.
The Crew's Performance is a show that ends the day with a colorful display of Chinese dances and singing.

Day 13: Yangtze: Three Gorges Dam, Arrival to Yichang, Flight to Shanghai

The Three Gorges Dam dwarfs everything in its vicinity, and must be seen to appreciate the vastness of the task. You will have an opportunity to climb to the top for some amazing photo opportunities.

A private vehicle will take you to the Yichang airport for your flight to Shanghai.

Day 14: Shanghai: Yuyuan Garden, The Bund, Shanghai Museum, Shanghai World Financial Center

Yuyuan Garden is a charming example of Ming Dynasty architecture and landscaping, and the Yuyuan Market nearby is a shopping haven for local snacks and crafts. The Bund has an air of a bygone era, but the new developments bring liveliness to the embankment.

Shanghai Museum is a world class exhibition of exquisite artifacts; among the most interesting are the minority outfits and handcrafts. The Shanghai World Financial Center ends the day with a spectacular view of the skyline and city several hundred meters below.

Day 15: Depart Shanghai
