Suggested Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Beijing, Flight not included

After arrival in Beijing, your Beijing tour guide will be expecting you at the arrival hall. Transfer to hotel and check in. Free time at leisure afterwards.

 
Day 2: Beijing: Temple of Heaven, the Great Wall, and Cloisonne Factory Tour

In the morning we will firstly visit Temple of Heaven, a complex of Taoist buildings where emperors of Ming and Qing dynasties visited for annual ceremonies of pray for good harvests. Later, you will have a pleasant trip on Mutianyu Section of the Great Wall. This section is less crowded, and a cable car will take you up and down the mountain, where you can walk along the wall, through the watch towers and enjoy superb views as it snakes across the hills and mountains. Wear good walking shoes and protection from the weather.

A visit to the cloisonne factory will finish up today's tour. You will see the elaborate manufacturing process of cloisonne wares, which are also called 'Copper - body and wire inlaid Enamel' and will make special souvenirs. There is no pressure to buy.

Breakfast and Chinese lunch are included for today. Tired after the trip to the Great Wall? A traditional massage will wash away your fatigue. Feel free to ask your guide to recommend good places for massage.

 
Day 3: Beijing: Tian'anmen Square, Forbidden City, Hutong Visit and Pearl Store

In the morning, you will walk on Tian'anmen Square, the world's largest city square in the center of Beijing and is surrounded by many imposing buildings. Get into the Forbidden City and you are stepping into China's history. This 'city within a city' is a World Heritage Site, and is the largest and the best preserved ancient imperial architecture complex in the world. Here, you will tour the Hall of Supreme Harmony, Hall of Mental Cultivation, Palace of Heavenly Purity and Royal Garden.

In the afternoon, we will get on a rickshaw to tour the old Hutong. Going pass the narrow lanes, visiting a local market and chitchat at a local house, this ride will offer you an insight of traditional Beijing's day-to-day life.

Breakfast and Chinese lunch are included for today. Don't leave Beijing without a bite of the Peking Duck! Feel free to ask your guide's recommended place for dinner.

 
Day 4: Beijing: Summer Palace, Bird's Nest, Water Cube; Flight to Xi'an

Sense the spirit of a typical royal garden at Summer Palace, the much-loved summer retreat of the imperial families. Walk pass the lovely landscaped gardens, halls, pavilions and corridors that set around the lake in natural harmony. The Olympic Green located at the north end of the central axis of Beijing City served as the venue for 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics. Bird's Nest and Water Cube have become new attractions for tourists. You will explore the park and walk outside the stadiums. Breakfast and Chinese lunch are included for today.

In the afternoon, transfer to the airport for flight to Xi'an, where you local guide, driver and vehicle will pick you up and transfer to hotel. The night is free for your leisure.

 
Day 5: Xi'an: Terracotta Warriors and Horses, Wild Goose Pagoda and Arts Center

Discovered accidentally in 1974, this incredible Terracotta Army of over 7000 soldiers, archers, horses and chariots in full battle array has guarded Emperor Qin's tomb since 210BC. Now it demonstrates the power and wealth of China's first emperor Qin Shihuang. There is also an excellent museum and film about the history of the vaults. Before lunch, stop by an art center where you will see how the fine Chinese jade are carved and the function of jade.

In the afternoon, we will visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. This major Buddhist site was built in the 7th century to house the Buddhist materials that Xuanzang (Tripitaka) brought back from his epic journey to India.

Breakfast and Chinese lunch are included for today. In the evening, why not ask your guide to reserve tickets for you to enjoy the Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Show.

 
Day 6: Xi'an: Ancient City Wall, Dumpling Making, and Muslim Quarters, Flight to Chongqing; Airport to Cruise Pier Transfer and Board the Cruise

In the morning, walk on the Ancient City Wall, presenting the best views of the city. The walls, ramparts, gates and watchtowers form one of the oldest and most complete city defenses that still stands firm. Feel up the vibe at the Muslim Quarter. The 500 meters long avenue paved by bluestones are dotted with many unique stalls, souvenir shops, and restaurants, which are mostly run by Muslim people.

Breakfast and Chinese lunch are included for today. Learn to make dumplings at a traditional dumpling restaurant and have lunch here.

An afternoon flight takes you to Chongqing. For your soon-to-begin Yangtze River Cruise, we choose the 5-star cruise President No.8. After dinner on your own arrangement, our local tour guide will escort you to the pier. Board on and enjoy your night!

 
Day 7: Yangtze River Cruise: Welcoming Banquet, Dancing Party, Shore Excursion to Shibaozhai. Optional tour to Fengdu Ghost City (RMB 300 per person).

Waking up in a bright breeze. Morning Tai Chi exercise is guided by teacher on the deck. After breakfast, you can go on an optional tour to Fengdu Ghost City on your own expense (reference price at 300 yuan per person). Many historical sites are linked with the ghost culture, which attracts a large number of tourists. In this ancient town there are 75 Buddhist and Taoist temples that were built during the Tang Dynasty and that house many demon and god statues. In Chinese legends, Fengdu is where the devil lives, and it is also a place for punishing the devil and awarding the good.

In the afternoon, you will take a land excursion to Shibaozhai. The wooden architecture stands on the riverside. It is built by catch upon a rectangular rock with sheer cliffs with a height of 56 meters and 12 stories. And every floor of the wooden structure contains interesting artifacts. Back to the cruise after the visit.

Dinner time, you will be invited to a welcome banquet and the whole crew will show you great hospitality. Enjoy a dance party afterwards. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included on the cruise.

 
Day 8: Yangtze River Cruise: Tai Chi Exercise, Qutang Gorge, Wu Gorge, Shore Excursion to Shennong Stream, Crew's Performance

Today, you will pass by Qutang Gorge and Wu Gorge.An optional tour to White Emperor City (reference price at 280 yuan per person) is available. It clings to the hills and cliffs of a peninsular jutting out into the river. It is a miniature city of temples and gates on Baidi Hill. The city is well known as "the Poet's City", because it has been visited by many scholars in the past, who have left many literary relics.

At noon after lunch, have a land excursion to Shennong Stream, a tributary of the Yangtze River. The stream races past large and small karst caves, flocks of swallows, sheer cliffs, deep gorges, waterfalls, three-colored springs, rapids, the ancient plank path, a suspended coffin in the cliff, groups of ancient tombs and marvelous karst formations.

Be back onto the cruise and have dinner whilst enjoying a night show performanced by the crew. In the late evening, the cruise passs through five-step ship locks at Three Gorges Dam. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included on the cruise.

 
Day 9: Three Gorges Dam Site; Cruise Pier Transfer to Yichang; Flight to Shanghai

Three Gorges Dam, the largest water conservancy project ever undertaken by man and it has been a dream for several generations of Chinese people. The construction of the dam formally began in 1994. The body of the dam was completed in 2003, and the whole construction has been completed in 2009. It will be 2,335 meters long, 185 meters high, 18 meters wide on the top and 130 meters wide at the bottom.The tourists can get access to the top of the dam and enjoy different kinds of photo opportunities.

 
Day 10: Shanghai: The Bund, Yuyuan Garden, Shanghai Museum, Shanghai Old Street, Nanjing Road

The first leg of today's visit starts with a free walk along The Bund. Gaze at the skyline of Shanghai while you are at Oriental Pearl TV Tower. It stands across the river from the Bund, among the exciting architecture of the east bank. The Shanghai History Museum is Located on the first floor of the Oriental TV Tower. There you can see the four major exhibition units reflecting Shanghai's history, modern and recent revolutionary history respectively.

Have lunch before we carry on the tour. A peaceful moment can be found at Yuyuan Garden. It was a private garden built in 1559 during the Ming Dynasty, with typical Chinese classic architecture and style dotted with rockeries, ponds, pavilions and corridors. Later, carry on the tour at French Concession and Xintiandi, where the old Shanghai houses and colonial style buildings perfectly blend into chic places.

Today's last stop will be a silk store to see how silk is produced from the cocoons of silk worms, and turned into the beautiful fabric we all know and love. Breakfast and Chinese lunch are included for today.

Day 11: Depart Shanghai, Flight not included

Hotel to airport transfer will be on your own arrangement and expense. If you need the transfer service, the price is approximately 40 USD per person based on a group of 2-5 persons.
