Day 2

Today's Activities: The Tian'anmen Square, The Forbidden City, Hall of Clocks and Watches, Treasure Houses
Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch

- The Tian'anmen Square: The world's largest city square and enduring symbol of China's national pride, surrounded by many imposing buildings including the Heavenly Gate (entry to the Forbidden City), Museums, government buildings and Chairman Mao's Mausoleum.
- The Forbidden City: The Imperial Palace, home to 24 Emperors between 1420 and 1911. Great squares, halls and gates contrast with the intricate networks of side halls, gardens, courtyards and quarters for those who lived in this 'city within a city'. The exhibitions, both permanent and temporary, are also absolutely fascinating. Expect to spend at least 2-3 hours, wear good walking shoes and protection from the weather.
- Hall of Clocks and Watches: Hall of Clocks and Watches set in the Forbidden City,2208 square meters,show us the clock history of the past 200 years.
- Treasure Houses: Treasure Houses show us all kinds of treasure which owned by Qing dynasty royalty. It's worthy of visiting.

Day 3

Today's Activities: Temple of Heaven, Lama Temple
Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch

- Temple of Heaven: One of the most famous sites in Beijing, this is Ming architecture at its best: beautiful, controlled, and highly symbolic. The surrounding gardens are full of interesting activity, particularly weekend mornings. Wear good walking shoes and protection from the weather.
- Lama Temple: The colourful Yonghe Lamasery is the largest and most famous Tibetan Buddhist temple outside Tibet. It's still very active, and the beautiful halls and courtyards are thronged with devotees come to worship or seek good luck.You can see the world's largest wooden statue (the Matreiya Buddha)and Tibetan exhibitions.

Day 4

Place & Transport: Beijing to Chengde
Today's Activities: Great Wall Jinshanling, Chengde Summer Resort Scenic Spot
Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch

- Great Wall Jinshanling: A very beautiful, and only partly restored section of the Great Wall, Jinshanling is a 10 km hike from the Simatai section. It's less crowded, and provides a unique view of the Wall, watchtowers and magnificent scenery. Wear comfortable walking shoes and protection from the weather.
- Chengde Summer Resort Scenic Spot: It lies in the north of Chengde urban district in Hebei province. Chengde Summer Resort is famous for its unique elegant demeanor, so the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization officially brings it into the world legacy roll.

Day 5

Place & Transport: Chengde to Beijing
Today's Activities: Putuozongcheng Temple (Potala), Pule Temple, Puning Temple
Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch

- Putuozongcheng Temple (Potala): It is right in the north of Chengde Summer Resort.Built on the basis of mixing together the building characteristics of Han's traditional buildings and that of Tibet, it is the model of the fusion of Han people's building style and Tibetan building style.
- Pule Temple: "The Pule Temple is just like a round pavilion from the appearance.There are 72 woods symbolizing 72 kinds of wisdom of the Buddha.
- Puning Temple: It is in the north of Chengde Summer Resort.The temple is teemed with people who come to burn incenses for blessing. Dacheng pavilion is where the biggest wooden Buddha statue, the Kwan-yin Bodhisattva with a thousand hands and a thousand eyes stands. Therefore, it is also called Big Buddha Temple, in the list of the scenic spots of the national 4A-rank.

Day 6

Today's Activities: Hotel to airport Transfer (Beijing), Airport to Hotel Transfer (Datong), The Yungang Grottoes, Datong Nine-Dragon Screen Wall, The Shang Huayan Temple, Shanhua Monastery
Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch

- The Yungang Grottoes: 16 kilometers west of Datong City.Yungang Grottoes are the most famous historic site in Datong.
- Datong Nine-Dragon Screen Wall: In the east of Datong City.It is one of the four famous nine-dragon screen walls in China.
- The Shang Huayan Temple: In the west of Datong City.It is an art museum of the Liao and Jin dynasties.
- Shanhua Monastery : located in central Datong within the old city walls. It was first constructed during the Tang dynasty (618-907AD) though most of the present wooden building dates back to the 12th century. The temple houses some intricately carved Jin dynasty (265-420AD) statues and has a screen wall decorated with dragons.

Day 7

Place & Transport: Datong to Wutaishan
Today's Activities: Hanging Temple (or the Temple in Midair), Yingxian Wooden Pagoda
Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch

- Hanging Temple (or the Temple in Midair): The Hanging Monastery was magically built into a near vertical rock face, the whole structure being supported by nothing more than a few wooden beams.
- Yingxian Wooden Pagoda: Yingxian Wooden Pagoda is the oldest and tallest wooden pagoda in China. The pagoda was built over 900 years ago. It is a mystery to scientists and tourists alike that this pagoda withstood several natural disasters and still was able to maintain its original condition.

Day 8

Place & Transport: Wutaishan
Today's Activities: Wutai Mountain,
Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch

- Wutai Mountain: The beautiful scenery of Mt. Wutaishan is a masterpiece, nature at its most exquisite. There are five glorious peaks: Wanghai Peak in the east, Guayue Peak in the west, Jinxiu Peak in the south, Yedou Peak in the north, and the central Cuiyan Peak. This mountain, one of the four holy Buddhist Mountains, is said to be the dwelling place of Manjusri Bodhisattva. 360 temples were built here dating back to the Tang Dynasty (618-907) and 47 of these still exist.

Place & Transport: Wutaishan to Taiyuan

- Chongshansi Temple: lies in the Wuyi Road of Taiyuan ,one of the famous Buddhism temples of Shanxi province. In 1983, it became a national key temple of the Hans.

Day 10

Place & Transport: Taiyuan to Pingyao
Today's Activities: Pingyao Ancient Town, Qiao Family's compound
Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch

- Pingyao Ancient Town: In the middle of Shanxi Province, this is the best-preserved of the four ancient towns in China. Inside the intact Ming Dynasty city wall this traditional town, whose buildings date from the Ming and Qing Dynasties, is exceptionally well-preserved, and just as it was centuries ago. Bikes can be rented for about 10 yuan/hour. You can also learn the traditional Chinese art of paper-cut, producing beautiful shapes and designs from paper in the Wentao Paper-cut shop, and lean how lacquerwork is done in Yonglong Shop.
- Qiao Family's compound: Built in 1755, this well-preserved and exquisite structure used to be the residence of Qiao Zhiyong, who was a famous businessman during the Qing Dynasty.

Day 11

Place & Transport: Pingyao to Overnight train, Train No. 2535 Dep 8:06PM - Arr 7:45AM
Today's Activities: Hotel to Train station Transfer (Pingyao), The Rishengchang Draft Bank, The Mingqing Street, Armed Escort Company Museum, The Ancient City Wall
Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch

- The Rishengchang Draft Bank: It was established in 1823. It was the biggest draft bank at that time and had been famous for "Hui Tong Tian Xia" (Business Connecting the Whole World).
- The Mingqing Street: the downtown thoroughfare and reserved quite well of the styles in the Ming and Qing Dynasties
- Armed Escort Company Museum: Armed Escort Company once played a significant role in promoting comerce in Ming and Qing dynasties. The museum tells stories of the founder-members and introduce some famous wings of martial arts.
- The Ancient City Wall: the ancient city wall of Pingyao with nearly 3,000 years of history, at present, basically keeps the original appearance of city wall constructed in early Ming Dynasty.

Day 12

Place & Transport: Overnight train to Xian
Today's Activities: Train station to Hotel Transfer (Xian), Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses(include golf carts), Xi'an City Wall
Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch

- Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses(include golf carts): This incredible 2000 year-old army of life-sized warriors, each one unique, is part of the underground tomb of the Emperor Qin. Well over 7000 figures were drawn up in full battle array in several large pits. Many of the figures, including soldiers, archers, horses and chariots, have been restored, and the repairs and excavations continue at the site where you can see both repaired and broken warriors in a truly impressive display. There is also an excellent museum, including bronze chariots unearthed nearby, and a film about the history and discovery of the tomb.From parking place to the entrance ,it will take you bout 15 minutes on foot,so China Highlights serve you the golf cart.This Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses is about 35 km from Xian
- Xi'an City Wall: Built in the Ming dynasty over 700 years ago, the Xian City Wall is the most complete ancient city wall in China. The wall measures around 13.9 km in circumference, 12 meters in height, 18 meters wide at its base while 15 meters wide on the top. It is a fine example of China's ancient defensive fortifications that were formed over 2,000 years ago, and continued even to the last imperial era of the Qing Dynasty. The wall reflects a brilliant beauty at night when the area is lit up by colorful lights.

Day 13

Place & Transport: Xian
Today's Activities: Famensi Temple, Forest of Stone Steles Museum
Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch

- Famensi Temple: It locatest to the west of Xian city and sits in the 120km Fufeng county. The temple has a history of 1700.
- Forest of Stone Steles Museum: With 900 years of history, this treasure house holds a large collection of the earliest stone steles of different periods, from the Han Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty. All together, there are 3,000 steles and the museum is divided into seven exhibition halls, which mainly display calligraphy, painting and historical records. All of these record some achievement in the development of the Chinese culture and reflect the historical facts of the cultural exchange between China and other countries.
