How to Get a Tibet Travel Permit in 2012?
Anyone wishing to visit Tibet is required to obtain a Tibet travel permit before entry to Tibet is permitted. This document functions as a visa which authorizes entry to Tibet and to stay for a specified period. The regulations regarding the requirements for entry have recently changed.
The new requirements are:
1. Groups are required to be of 5 or more persons with the same nationality.
2. All group members are required to enter Tibet from a same destination on the same flight/train/vehicle on the same date.
Although this has made it more difficult to get a permission to travel to Tibet, China highlights is doing all it can to help our customers meet the requirements. We offer two options for customers.

China highlights has established a tour list which is updated daily, which may help you to find a tour to join which suites you needs. All these tours are confirmed. We have divided our customers into US travellers, Canadian travellers, Australian travellers, European travellers, South American travellers and Asian travellers based on the nationality. Check the list to match your nationality and select the same enter Tibet date and the same last city to Lhasa on same flight or train. Tours require 5 people or more in one group. It is possible for group members to leave a group and exit Tibet before the other members of the group. A notification of success in obtaining a Tibet Permit will take place 3-5 days before entry into Tibet. Please submit your inquiry we will do our best to organize your Tibet tour!

China Highlights is offering a 4-day Tibet group tour for American travelers which includes domestic flights from Xi’an to Lhasa and departing monthly from July to October 2012. A minimum of 6 people is required for each tour to obtain the discounted price offered.
