Day 1: Flight to Zhengzhou

Your tour guide will be ready to pick you up at the airport on time and then transfer to the hotel. After check-in, you can have a rest and prepare for the next tour.

 
Day 2: Dengfeng – Songyang Academy, Shaolin Temple

Songyang Academy was one of the major 4 academies of the Song Dynasty. It has an area of more than 10,000 square meters, and has more than 100 rooms with more than 70 steles in the corridor. There are many scenic spots on the way to Songyang Academy and Junji Mountain. Standing in the ancient academy can conjure up a feeling that your back in ancient times, learning in the school classroom.
Shaolin Temple is shrouded in legend and mystery. The origin of martial arts and kung fu is part of the mystique of Shaolin Temple and the Shaolin monks. This is probably the most famous temple in China, not only because of its long history and its role in Chinese Buddhism, but also because of its martial arts. There is a theatre here which presents the famous Kungfu Show at 0930, 1030, 1130, 1400, 1500, and1600. It's best to get there early, as it is only a small theatre with about 200 seats.

 
Day 3: Luoyang – Longmen Grottoes, White Horse Temple, Luoyang Old Town

Longmen Grottoes is one of the four largest grottoes in China. Live cultural relics lie amid green mountains and serpentine rivers. As early as 1961, Longmen Grottoes had been authorized by the central government of PRC as a key national cultural relic protection area. It was authorized in 1982 by central government as one of the 44 National Parks of China. In 2000, it was enlisted into the List of World Heritage.
Backed by Mangshan Mountain and facing the Luohe River, White Horse Temple lies about 20 kilometers to the east of Luoyang city, Henan province. Since White Horse Temple, Buddhism monasteries in China traditionally began to be called 'temples'. White Horse Temple as a result was ever since regarded as the cradle land of Buddhism in China. In history, highly accomplished Buddhist monks from China, even world renowned Buddhist monks from abroad used to pay visits to White Horse Temple in pursuit of Buddhism inspirations and wisdom; it was thereby also called the 'Home of Sakyamuni' or the 'Court for Ancestors'.
The Luoyang Old Town District measures a few square miles as the main center, but it probably extends out over twenty square miles. It is the best place to find remaining ancient architecture. The area also features a museum for folk art that contains local art such as paper cuttings art, local clothing, and other local artwork. Some of the streets are shopping streets that sell a certain kind of good or article. Others are residential streets with small shops and old apartments lining both sides.

 
Day 4: Jiaozuo – Yuntai Mountain

You will spend a whole day touring in Yuntai Mountain. Yuntai Mountain covered forests, river valleys with deep quiet of the lake, a mix of waterfalls, picturesque Qifengyishi, forming a perfect Yuntaishan unique natural landscape, clouds, fog, wind echoed cents, important for the mysterious ancient Taoist priests were Miaozhen Xianju the blessed Cave, birthplace of Taoism Miaozhen. Emperor Xian of Han Tomb of the base stations and summer, Tang Yao Wang Sun Simiao herbs alchemy remains of Emperor Xuan Gong, and a Tang Dynasty poet Wang Wei wrote, "Every festival, their loved ones' eternal farewell of Zhuyufeng, and many celebrities of letters of the inscriptions, artifacts, formed Shen Yun Yuntaishan rich cultural connotations.

 
Day 5: Anyang – the Former Ancient City of Yin, the Site of Youli City, Yuefei Temple, the Museum of Chinese Characters

The former ancient city of Yin was once the thriving capital of the Shang (BCE 1700-1027) Dynasty. The first round of excavations at Yinxu took place during 1928-1937. More than a hundred thousand antiques have been found, which plays a key role to discover the history of the second dynasty of China.
The site of Youli City provides precious materials to research the culture in the Shang and Eastern Zhou Dynasties. Wen Emperor wrote the book Zhouyi when he was in captivity here.
Yuefei Temple was built to commemorate the great general Yuefei, who dedicate himself to the country in the Song Dynasty. Historic sites in the temple, such as pavilions, steles, stone status, record the great events of the general. Many local people and traveler come to the temple to honor this hero and motivate themselves. Follow the guide and learn some stories of Yuefei.
Officially opened on November 16, 2009, the Museum of Chinese Characters is the first of its kind to be established in China. The collection of Chinese art and artifacts currently housed in this new museum contains more than 5,000 objects and spans a period of about 4,000 years. It is the best place to learn the history and the development of the Chinese characters.

 
Day 6: Linzhou – Red Flag Canal, Linlvshan International Glide Base

Building the canal was a huge project because at that time, there were hardly any tools or machines to help dig the hard rock stones of the Taihang Mountain. The canal has improved the living conditions of people in Lin County because their harvest has increase greatly. The farmed land used to yield 50 kilograms of crop originally, but now produces about 10 times that. Villagers have also started fish ponds and planted fruit. The canal is remembered as a significant achievement in water conservancy improving the life of many people. The spirit of that time, hard work and struggle, was a totem for the whole country.
Taking the geographical advantage of the Linlv Mountain, Linlvshan International Glide Base wins a great reputation as one of China's best glide centers with international standards and facility. The base is located at the top of the Linlv Mountain, altitude of 1600m, offering breath-taking views over the Taihangshan Canyon and Linzhou Basin. Travellers with glide certificates can enjoy flying high above the mountain. Day 7: Kaifeng – Dragon Pavilion, Iron Pagoda, Daxiangguo Temple, Millennium City Park

Dragon Pavilion houses a tablet "Huang Di Wan Sui" (Long Live the Emperor), thus getting the name Dragon Pavilion. A park centered on this pavilion called Longting (Dragon Pavilion) Park now has become the biggest scenic spot in Kaifeng and attracted many tourists from home and overseas. It is said that tourists who visit Kaifeng cannot miss Longting (Dragon Pavilion) Park.
Kaifeng Iron Pagoda is a 13-stories pagoda, which has a history of about 1000 years. It is a symbol of Kaifeng City and it is named as the Beautiful Pagoda under the heaven. The color of the pagoda is like iron, but it is made of a kind of brick with an iron-like-color. Climb up the pagoda to take a bird’s eye view of the park.
Daxianggguo Temple is a famous Buddhist temple in China. For hundreds of years there have been so many related legends, dramas, and fictions that Daxiangguo Temple has become well-known both at home and abroad. The stories of Xiang Couple, Mother Buddha, and Lu Zhishen pulling out a tree add to its legendary color.
Millennium City Park is a large historical cultural theme park with an area of almost 400,000 Sqm. It was founded as a tribute to the painting The MILLENNIUM CITY PARK painted by Zhang Zeduan, a famous artist from the Northern Song Dynasty (960AD-1127AD) and opened to the public in October 28th 1998. The Theme park illustrates the social life and architecture of the people of Northern Song Dynasty. The park also contains a museum to the history of people of Jewish descent that lived in Kaifeng. Enjoy the grand night show, which can bring you back to the Qing Dynasty.

 
Day 8: Zhengzhou – Yellow River Scenic Area, Henan Provincial Museum

Yellow River is the cradle of Chinese culture. In the Yellow River Scenery Area, you can feel the majesty and immensity of the Chinese mother river. Take a hovercraft to a beach area to get closer to the Yellow River.
The Henan Museum is one of China's oldest museums. It is a 'key' museum, Henan Museum now exhibits 130,000 precious cultural relics carefully selected from 1.3 million pieces stored in the museums of the whole province. All such treasures are displayed in the 8 halls respectfully for the brilliant ancient culture in Henan, ancient stone carvings, ancient jade carvings, fine crafts of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, ancient architecture in Henan, bronze ware art of Kingdom Chu, the world of dinosaurs, etc.

 
Day 9: Departure
As your Chinese culture discovery tour of Henan Province ends today, your private driver will escort you to the airport on time. The guide will assist you with all the formalities.
