Naadam means games in Mongolian. The Naadam Grassland festival is a magnificent event featuring traditional Mongolian mass recreational and sports activities. It is held between summer and autumn from July to August when the flowers are blooming, the grass is green, and the cattle and sheep are well-fed.
The Naadam Festival is the largest and most celebrated festival in the region with a long history, dating back to the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368). The activities of the festival include: song and dance performances reflecting the folklore of various ethnic groups, ethnic sports competitions, exhibitions and sales of ethnic commodities, trade talks and soliciting for investments.
Tourists can participate in and watch horseracing, wrestling and archery, and enjoy the singing and dancing performed by Mongolian artists, or try local Mongolian traditional foods.
China Highlights has designed a 4 Days Naadam Grassland Festival tour from only $830 USD. You should really not miss it.
