Zhanjiang, a provincially administered municipality in Guangdong, is one of the port cities that the government has opened. In addition, it is classified as an A city and is ranked among the nation’s top 50 cities in terms of comprehensive strength.
In Zhanjiang, Guangdong, the international dragon boat race is held in the sea on May 28. During the Dragon Festival, the Zhanjiang government held the “2009 Zhanjiang International Dragon Boat Invitational Tournament” at the sea-watching area of Jinshawan, Chikan District, in Zhanjiang. Besides watching the race, see with your own eyes the boundless stretch of clear gulf water and the charming coastal scenes, and appreciate the scenery of Huguang Rock, Donghai (East Sea) Island, and Techeng Island.
Hi. Just wanted to ask when is your dragonboat races? do you still accept teams to join? My team is from HK? and we are still looking for other competitions where we can join.Thanks.
Hi Mr. Ronaldo Labian,
So glad that you are interested in the dragon boat races. But sorry to say it was held on June 23, 2012, a little pity that you’ve missed it.
The races in some other areas may last 3 days, before, during and after the Dragon Boat Festival. Right now, it is 3 days after, so no dragon boat races until next year. As these activities are usually held by the local government, and they may not have information on their website, so if you want to join it next year, please contact them directly or inform us1-2 months in advance, we’ll try our best to assist.

What date will the 2011 Dragon Boat Festival be held?
Is it possible to locate a team to practice and paddle with?
Dragon Boat Festival falls on Monday, June 6, 2011. Sorry to say that it is not likely to paddle with local teams, the activity requests great teamwork and communications. If you are interested in the dragon boat racing, why not go there and be a spectator to feel the great atmosphere? Many cities hold dragon boat racing, do you have a plan for that? Let me know more details and I will be more than happy to provide you with workable plans.
