60th Anniversary of P.R.C.

October 1st, 2009, marks the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. There will be one week off for the whole country for this holiday. All over China, people will hold celebrations for this magnificent event, and for the prosperity of this great nation. This year, Mid-Autumn Festival, an important Chinese traditional festival, falls on October 3rd, during the National Day Holiday, will add the joyous atmosphere to the holiday.

About China's National Day

China National Day

October 1st is the anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China in 1949, and is celebrated as the National Holiday all over China. On this day back in 1949, the Chinese people, under the leadership of Communist Party of China, declared victory in War of Liberation. A grand ceremony was held at Tian’anmen Square. At the ceremony, Mao Zedong, Chairman of the Central People's Government, solemnly declared the founding of P.R.C. and raised the first national flag of China in person. Read more

China's 60th anniversary

The National Holiday is celebrated all over China, and some are in large scale. In Beijing, there will be the Grand National Day Parade, followed by mass pageant and Firework Display. In Shanghai, the National Day Concert will present brilliant performance of China’s musical masterpieces.
