Xiahe Hiking
The Sanke grassland around the town is where they graze their cattle. There are horse races held here in June. It is interesting to watch the herdsmen tend and drive their livestock. You might enjoy a walk out outside the town and see the monks in their robes and the native people dressed in traditional clothes. You can rent bicycles for about 10 RMB a day or so.
The Gesang Flower Grassland Tourism Reception Center and the reception center at Lapuleng Hotel have tents for rent, traditional Tibetan food, local snacks, ethnic handicrafts and Tibetan clothes. They can help out with setting up campfire parties or providing entertainment.
