Yichang has several bus stations and the main long-distance bus station is located south of the train station. Departures to Wuhan are plentiful but most of the buses are in poor condition. Travel from Yichang to Wuhan takes around 4hours.
Notice: the bus doesn't stop on the way and there are toilets on board.

hi how can we get from yichang to guilin after a yangtse river cruise?
There is no direct train or flight from Yichang to Guilin. You could take a train from Yichang to Liuzhou(about 16 hours), then change to another train to Guilin(around 2.5 hours).
You also could take train to Wuhan(about 2-2.5 hours), take a high speed train to Guilin(about 5.5 hours), or a flight (about 1 hour).
Please check the time schedule on our website.

Hi, Thank you for this interesting and useful page. It seems travel from Shanghai to Yichang by fast train, then 3 Gorges cruise (3 nights)to Chongqing and then overland to Chengdu is relatively quick and inexpensive, but return to Shanghai seems a choice between a long train trip or an expensive flight. Am I right?
Dear Bill Tarrant,
You are right, as there is no bullet train from Chongqing to Shanghai. If you take a train to Shanghai, it takes about 28 hours at least. If you take a flight for saving time, the cost is higher than the cost of train ticket. Sometimes you could find a good rate for the flight tickets, it depends the policy of airlines.
