Yinchang's airport (Three Gorge Airport) is 26 kilometers away from the city center and has a few flights to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chongqing, and Chengdu.
There are daily flights from Yichang to Wuhan, the capital of Wubei Province.
The airport bus leaves from Qingjiang Hotel (Qing Jiang Bing Guan) 2 hours prior to the flight departure. A taxi ride from the city center to the airport costs around 80-100 Yuan.Click here to search flights to and from Yichang
Subway
There are direct trains from Yichang to Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Xian. However, direct train service from Yichang to Guilin is not available, and to travel to Guilin you need to travel to Liuzhou first and then take a bus from Liuzhou to Guilin ( 2 hours).Click here to search the trains arriving and departing to/from Yichang
City Transportation
Yichang has several bus stations and the main long-distance bus station is located south of the train station. Departures to Wuhan are plentiful but most of the buses are in poor condition. Travel from Yichang to Wuhan takes around 4 hours. Notice: the bus doesn’t stop on the way and there are toilets onboard.

The whole way between Yichang and Wuhan will high speed road, it is quite good. It will take you about 4 hours for the drive tour.
Yichang is always the last stop of the Yangtze cruise. Do you need us to arrange a cruise for you?

The bus from Yichang to Wuhan departs every one hour. You may buy the ticket upon your arrival. The bus takes about 5 hours to get to Wuhan.

Hi Kate, the best way from Yichang to Guilin is take a bus from Yichang to Wuhan. Then take a flight from Wuhan to Guilin. Another option is take a train from Yichang to Liuzhou (柳州), then connect a train or bus from Liuzhou to Guilin.

There aren't any cruise from Wuhan to Yichang. The ship between Wuhan to Chongqing is available. I will send the details about the ship to your e-mail later.
It is risk to catch the train leaving at 2:05pm when gettting off from Yangtze Cruise at Yichang. Even generally speaking passengers might get off at 01:00pm, but it takes 30 mintues driving to railway station and cost some time to find your train and apartment. Once there is any delay, you could miss the train. The best options might be:
1. check the possibility to change a later train
2. take a private trip to visit Yangtze Dam then drive to railway station directly (you would be at railway station at 00:30pm-01:00pm) then. If you are insterested in this offer, please contact your agency who book cruise for you or me karen@chinahighlights.com.

Usually they don't have the size limitation for your luggage, the bigger ones should be put in the baggage cabin(at the bottom of the bus). you could carry the small ones with you and put it in the luggage rack up your seat. If you want to know more you could call +86-0717-6459697.
