People in Guizhou Province say "eat in Zunyi". Zunyi special foods include distinctive cultivated herbs and wild herbs. There is "Fried Dragon Claw with Shredded Meat." Zunyi is also a city that makes fine liquors. Along with the national liquor ,Maotai Liquor, there are renowned liquors including Dong Liquor, Xi Liquor, Meijiao Liquor and Zhen Liquor.

Zunyi is one of the main chili producing areas in China. Suiyang "towards the sky" chili is very hot and what is interesting about it is that unlike other types of chili peppers, the tips of the peppers don’t hang down on the chili plants but the tips point nearly straight up. It is one of the Chinese people’s favorite chili peppers. After being picked and dried in the sun, it is red and shiny. It has been sold to countries in Southeast Asia since the 1950s. Recently, it has exported to countries such as Japan and United States. If you are a chili fanatic, there are many regionally produced spicey sauces or chili products for you to take home.

There is a pedestrian street in Zunyi that has shops selling specialty products and souvenirs. This street is between Gongyuan Road and Hongqi Road. Hongqi Road is near the site of the Zunyi Meeting.

A large "Snack Street" is in the Honghua Gang District. There are a great variety of snacks. The fried fish is especially good.

The Dingzi Kou Night Market area is also a good place to go to enjoy the local snacks. It's cool to eat for less than 10 RMB.
