The China tour has met our expectations.
We did alter the trip as we were traveling, so there was room for improvement. We did not, however regret any of the places we did visit, if only we had had more time!
Panda tour in Chengdu was wonderful, and definitely what we had been looking most forward to, too. Silk market in Beijing. It was an experience. Tourist should be warn that they can haggle the price down a LOT.Yangshuo is a must see! Not necessarily through guided tours, might as well take a stroll through the city. It was incredible with the mountains all about.
We loved our guide in Wuhan. (I cannot remember her name...) She was lovely, very friendly and we simply got along very well. As Ingy was not used to travelling with guides, and I was not used to travelling “alone” with a guide, we found it very comfortable to be spending time with someone who acted more as a friend than someone at work. When we sat and read while waiting for our lunch, she joined our table and pulled out a book as well! She was adorable and had a lot of knowledge about the area and China in general.
We did not use the rental much, as Ingrid already had a Chinese phone. But had it not been for that, it would definitely had been useful.
Peking Duck in Beijing! Absolutely fantastic. The food on cruise was marvelous. The service was good.
The excursions were definitely aimed at eldrely. We were warned that the Ghost city might be strenuous. It was not even slightly.
We would recommend China Highlgihts to friends. It was a lovely way to visit China the first time. There was not a moment where we felt insecure or lost.
