The Xiamen International Marathon is an annual marathon race held in the coastal city of Xiamen, Fujian Province, the People's Republic of China.It is one of the most prominent and world-renowned marathon events. Each year, more and more people from the world take part in this event. The 2013 edition of the race featured 73,896 participants from 45 countries and regions around the world.
History
The Xiamen International Marathon started in 2003 has been recognized as a Gold Label Road Race by the IAAF (International Association of Athletics federations) since 2007, and has been awarded this honor for six consecutive years for its professionalism in organization and mass participation. It is famous for the coastal scenic course which has been rewarded as one of the most beautiful courses in the world.
Events
Events of the race are the Marathon (42.195 kilometers), the Half Marathon (21.0975 kilometers), a 10-kilometer run and a 5-kilometer run. In addition there is also the National Marathon Championship, the Cross-Strait Invitational Marathon Tournament, the Wheelchair Half Marathon, and the Roller Skating 12 Kilometers Race.
Take Part
You must register to participate. There are three registration methods: online registration, on-site registration and through travel services.
The registration fee for a Chinese individual is 50 RMB, students in groups are 20 RMB per person, and the fee for foreigners is 20 USD per person (around 135 RMB).
