What to See in Huaxi Park

The park’s scenic attractions are centered on the four small and exquisite hills: Unicorn, Phoenix, Turtle, and Snake.

1. Unicorn Hill

Unicorn Hill is the main hill in Huaxi Park. It got its name from its striking unicorn appearance. Standing at the top of Unicorn Hill gives you a panoramic view of Huaxi Park.

Climb along the hill’s winding stone path to reach a pavilion built on the edge of a cliff. You can have a rest in the pavilion and enjoy the magnificent view.

2. Turtle Hill

Similarly, another hill has been named Turtle Hill because it looks like a giant turtle.

A pavilion is hidden on the hill — it is isolated from the noise outside, and people can drink tea and play chess in this quiet pavilion.

3. Snake Hill

Snake Hill has many ups and downs, like a crawling snake. Snake Hill has three peaks, each with a pavilion at the top.

Snake Hill is right beside Turtle Hill so you can actually walk to Turtle Hill by crossing a bridge that’s on the side of Snake Hill.

4. Phoenix Hill

Phoenix Hill stands in a field of flowers. Standing at the top of Phoenix Hill, you can overlook a large and breathtaking area filled with flowers. Different flowers bloom there all year round.

5. Huaxi River

Huaxi Park is built in the gentlest part of the Huaxi River. Because this part of the river is flat, the water spreads out like a giant mirror, reflecting all the willows, bamboo groves, and flowers on both sides.

Flowers bloom on the banks of the river and when the wind blows, the petals float to the surface of the water, turning it into a river of flowers.

Boats are available in the park for visitors to rent. A boat tour offers views of the beautiful landscape along the entire length of the river.

What to Do in Huaxi Park

1. Enjoy Half a Day’s Rest

Huaxi Park is a quiet and relaxing park that can help you to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. The park is not very large and can be viewed in half a day.

You can have tea in the park’s pavilions, watch elderly people play chess, see children fly kites, or rent a boat to sail along the river.

2. Taste Delicious Huaxi Dishes

Leave Huaxi Park from Gate 2 and you can walk to Huaxi Snack Street in just 3 minutes.

There are many kinds of delicious local snacks served there, such as rice noodle rolls, fried tofu, Huaxi fruit shakes, and chicken hot pots.

Among them, the most famous snack is Huaxi beef rice noodles. The rice noodles are filled with beef soup that has been cooked for more than 6 hours, then marinated beef slices and vegetables are put on top of the rice noodles.

The local Huaxi Beef Rice Noodles Restaurant is always full of people. You'll never forget the delicious taste of this dish once you've eaten it.
