Qinhuangdao is a coastal city, hence the major local specialties in the city are marine products, and almost all the art wares are made of shell-fish. Visitors who want to buy the local specialties can go to Shitang Road Market in Beidaihe (北戴河石塘路市场). The market is the largest shopping place in Qinhuangdao City, offering pearl, agates, emeralds, jades, necklaces, art wares, tourist souvenirs, marine products and clothing and so on. There is a commercial district (Taiyang Cheng Commercial District) in Jiangdong Road, Qinhuangdao.
