Beijing South Railway Station

Beijing South Railway Station

Written by FabioUpdated Nov. 22, 2023

Beijing South Train Station serves as the primary hub for high-speed rail lines heading east, south, and northeast Chinese cities. While it stands as one of Asia's substantial railway stations, it doesn't quite match the scale of Beijing West Station, which primarily handles westward and southwest-bound lines. Impressively, approximately 15 million passengers embark on their train journeys from Beijing South Station each year.

Rising to a height of 40 meters, Beijing South Station boasts an architectural design reminiscent of the iconic Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests in the Forbidden City. This station enjoys close proximity to the historic Forbidden City, and travelers can easily reach this magnificent site via subway within a mere 30-minute ride from the station.
