Harbin is famous for the Harbin Ice and Snow Festival. The Festival is held in Harbin every year in January or February.
Currently, there are two pairs of train running between Harbin and Qingdao daily. One pair is high-speed train numbered as G1206/G1208. The other pair is normal-speed train numbered as K704/K702.

Flights vs Trains Journeys between Harbin and Qingdao
It is a very long journey between Harbin and Qingdao by railway. For high speed trains, it is better to book a higher standard ticket to make the trip more comfortable. A first class seat will provide more leg room than an economic second class seat on fast trains. And for overnight sleeper trains, it is better to book a sleeper ticket. The journey is hard without sleeper.
The full price is about 200 USD for an economic seat on Harbin-Qingdao flight. The flight price is similar with the first class seat cost on high-speed train. However a single trip of flight will take about 2 hours only. If airlines offer good discount, it can be the most competitive option for traveling between the cities by flight.
