We were in Beijing for a few days and our experience was excellent. We visited Forbidden city, summer Palace, Tiananmen Square, Hutong walking tour , temple of heaven and Mutianyu wall. Our guide Jason and driver Mr. Chang made our visit very stress free, we really appreciated his guidance to all tours, made sure we’re on time for everything and gave us a special attention after the tours, helping us with our personal needs, special thanks to Jason for escorting us to the train station, making sure we made to our seats and given us instructions for meeting our next guide in our next adventure.

Amazing and beautifully planned.. We enjoyed our 3 days trip in Beijing. Explored temples and ofcourse the highlights of our tour The Great Wall of China was exceptional. What a great city experience! Few days in Xian, enjoying noodles challenge, the bike ride on the city wall and finally the impressive army of terracotta warriors. Great thanks to our guide Jenny Yang from China Highlights, professional and flexible, helpful on every occasion, the tour was really a great pleasure.

We were a party of 3, spent a week in China and covered Beijing, Xian and Shanghai. In each town we had 3 great tour guides, Tina, Jenny and Christina and 3 great drivers that drove us around. I highly recommend this agency who looked after us very well down to all the minute details. We enjoyed the trip very much and definitely will come back again!!

We visited Xian for 2 days as part of a multi-city tour through China Highlights. Our guide Ms. Lin was outstanding. A native of Xian, she was highly knowledgeable about the history and cultural aspects of the area. She was extremely attentive and clearly committed to making our time in Xian the best. On the first day, we visited the Terra-cotta Warriors and made our own clay warriors afterwards. We finished the day climbing to the top of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. On the second day, we bicycled on the Xian City Wall, walked through the Muslin Quarter and created our own shadow puppets. Just before departing, Ms. Lin brought us to the Food Gallery of Xian for a truly memorable lunch. A shout out to our driver, Mr. Zhang also. He was a steady and responsible driver. I felt very comfortable and safe in his vehicle. I would highly recommend Ms. Lin and China Highlights for visiting Xian.

OUR TOUR GUIDE JERRY IS ONE OF THE BEST I HAVE ENCOUNTERED, HE IS VERY PROFESSIONAL AND TOOK THE TIME TO SHOW US ALL THE POINT OF INTEREST AND EXPLAINED PATIENTLY THE HISTORY OF THE TERRACOTTA ARMY AND LATER BOOKED AN EXCELLENT DINNER SHOW IN XIAN. Evan was an amazing tour guide. Very friendly and english was perfect. He did a great job of explaining to us the history of china as well as his experience with his family and their traditions. We did the panda experience as well as the jiuzhaigou national park. We brought 3 kids with our group and we were a total of 7. He was patient with our kids and kept them entertained. Evan made a suggestion of visiting a local tea house since our itinerary was tight and he was incredibly thoughtful and made our experience seamless.

We had an amazing time exploring Chengdu with Fifi as our tour guide. She is very professional, knowledgeable and incredibly friendly. Her deep understanding of local history, culture and food made our trip truly unforgettable. Throughout the trip, Fifi was patient, attentive to our needs and always made sure we were comfortable and well taken care of to the smallest details. If you’re planning a trip to Chengdu, we highly recommend booking a tour with Fifi - she will definitely make your visit truly special!

Although we only had half a day in Chengdu, Evan, our guide, made sure we had a great time at the Panda Breeding and research centre, feeding us little interesting nuggets of information about pandas throughout the tour. The Szechuan hot pot was also very enjoyable. Thoroughly enjoyable experience!

Of all our guides, Helen from Chengdu was the “superstar”. She had such enthusiasm for the pandas you couldn’t help but have a great time. She got us around the crowds to get up close to get the best photos. And was generous in telling her story about growing up in China

We visited Chengdu for the pandas and we were not disappointed. The whole city is filled with panda mania. Our fantastic guide Helen made sure we were ready for our visit to the pandas by presenting us with panda accessories. She knows the place so well taking us through short cuts to the various enclosures and also the spots for the best photos. Apart from the pandas, we also visited the amazing giant Buddha. And to top it all, Helen brought us for the best Sichuan lunch, of gong bao ji ding and ma po toufu, that we have eaten.

Our trip to Guilin would not have been the same without Lele as our guide! He was absolutely amazing in every way. His English was excellent, making communication smooth and easy. Lele was always punctual, professional, and went above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience. His explanations were insightful and engaging, bringing the history and culture of Guilin to life. Lele even helped us take photos, making sure we captured every special moment. Thanks to Lele , our visit to Guilin was a perfect 10/10—from the incredible tourist sites and friendly people to the delicious food. I highly recommend him to anyone visiting Guilin !

We had a great experince staying in the mountain hotel when viewing the incredible rice terrasses. A visit to the hotsprings was invigurating and very relaxing. We would highly recommend this for a change of normal tourist routines. Guilin was vibrant and even more so as it was a local festival. Food galore, people got dressed up in traditional dresses to take photoes with spectecular colourful backgrounds of the lake with the two pagodas. The highlight was a visit to the caves. Huge chambers expertly lit to bring out the many different features. Travelling by boat from Guilin to Yangshuo for four hours showed us the beautiful scenery, part of which is even depicted on the rmb 20 bill issued in China. Yangshuo is surrounded by the fascinating Peaks which mark the country in thousands. Punters on the rivers provide a romantic foreground for pictures to be treasured long after our visit. A cable car ride transported us over great heights towards a wooden suspension bridge followed by challenging steps to the top. The view was worth the effort but we quit going down to the famous glass bridge as the subsequent walk up the hill to the cable car station was too daunting for me being slightly aged. A great lunch of beer fish in a boutique hotel in one of the old villages was followed by a visit to a famous old stone bridge which inspired a number of local artist to play their craft. A perfect finish to our six night holiday Our tour guide was Chais who displayed a remarkable patience to our wims and showed us how to appreciate his home country. All the places we visited by car driven by Shi whom I would recommend to anybody as a very safe driver taken care of us. I spent two short days in Guilin my travel guide Sarah was a wonderful host, making sure we got to see and taste the best of Guilin. Our driver Zeng was also excellent, she made sure we arrived at each destination safely. I would definitely recommend travelling to Guilin however two days is not enough to see all the beautiful sites it has to offer. I will be sure to come back again and book a tour with Sarah as she is very welcoming and funny so we had many laughs during our stay together.

Once in a lifetime Lhasa und Tibet besichtigen! Unsere Führerin Tseyang war spitze. Sie spricht ausgezeichnetes Englisch und kennt ihr Land sehr gut. Ich hatte gesundheitliche Probleme und Tseyang war sofort da, und ins Krankenhaus zu begleiten und den Weg zu bahnen, ohne Sprachkenntnisse unm?glich!

We did a 7 day tour of Tibet with China Highlights. The guide was Phurbu. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. We are repeat customers of this travel agency because they deliver a high quality tour with enormous flexibility. From the beginning they helped us getting the necessary permits. The quality of the sites we visited was amazing and we always had ample time to enjoy. We had a major setback as the government closed the access to the Everest area so our tour had to be rerouted. We were initially disappointed but we ended up visiting lake Namso and that was incredible. The agency offered a dinner in compensation even as it wasn’t their fault Phurbu introduced us patiently to his culture and to the Tibetan gastronomy. We had lunch and breakfast in around 10 typical places and the quality was always good.

There’s so much to say about this trip and our guide and driver who made it amazing for us. The culture and the sites are incredible to witness. From Lhasa to Shigatse to Everest Basecamp to Qirong Border, our guide (Dechen) gave us the most amazing tour and was incredibly knowledgeable about all the sites along the way. She made sure we felt welcome and were comfortable the entire time (from picking us up at the airport with traditional scarves, having heavy blankets ready to keep us warm, prayer flags for us to experience local culture, and oxygen bottles for us when the altitude got to us). Such an incredible experience, made even better by our guide Dechen and our amazing driver who got us around safely and comfortably. How he could navigate hundreds of switchbacks without making us carsick is a true testament to his driving skills. We felt very safe with him at the wheel. Thank you both!

Enjoyed a 1-day tour in Suzhou with our tour guide Alan. He was fluent in English and gave us many interesting tidbits about the history of various attractions as he brought us around. He catered to the needs of our group - ensuring that vegetarian food was available during lunch, allocating ample time for us to shop and explore while ensuring that we were on time for our high speed rail back to Shanghai. Thanks to his effective planning and communication with the driver/rickshaw riders, the tour proceeded smoothly. The itinerary was relaxed, but we got to see a bit of everything - Panmen was scenic and not crowded, Master of Nets garden was small but beautiful, the rickshaw riders were skillful in navigating the traffic, Pingjiang Road was bustling with activity and a great place for phototaking with canals. Our one night stay at Artyzen Habitat Hotel was comfortable, gym was clean and spacious, the hotel breakfast had a good selection of food. Thank you to our travel advisor Coco for planning the trip as well.

Brenda was our tour guide in Zhou Zhuang and Shanghai. We had a great time in Zhou Zhuang and Shanghai. Zhou Zhuang is definitely the water town to visit if you can only visit one. Brenda was able to meet all our needs, even assisted us with a trip to the ER in Zhou Zhuang and translated for us. Chinese healthcare system is very quick and cheap. We were able to see a doctor, get lab works, ultrasound and medication all within an hour. The cost was about $50 USD. That did not affect our trip. We enjoyed the restaurants she took us to. When our tour was supposed to end around 2pm in Shanghai, Brenda and the driver made sure that we completed all the activities we wanted to do. I highly recommend Brenda as a tour guide and using China Highlights to plan out your trip to China.

My wife and I are touring China through China Highlights and when in Suzhou, we were blessed to Brenda as our guide. Brenda is an outstanding friendly guide whose knowledge of the area and whose English is excellent. Ray ‘s purpose in coming to Suzhou was to take a canal boat ride. Brenda arranged boat rides both in Suzhou and Tongli which were both marvellous. We also visited the famous leaning Buddhist Temple and the embroidery complex. She also took time to show us a great eating area close to our hotel. Brenda is currently with us in Shanghai where she shown us how to walk easily down to the river to look over the amazing new buildings and the Bund. She has also introduced us to quite different local food at lunch each day and we are now enjoying coffees at her favourite coffee shop on the river.

I had an absolutely incredible experience on my tour in Suzhou, all thanks to our amazing guide (Brenda)! She was knowledgeable, and personable, and went above and beyond to make the entire trip unforgettable. Her insights into the local culture, history, and hidden gems of Suzhou added so much depth to the experience. Whether we were exploring the beautiful gardens or walking through the charming old streets, she brought the city to life with her stories and passion for the area. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for an authentic and enriching tour in Suzhou!

Our guide Brenda spoke fluent English. She was wonderful and very knowledgeable. Thanks to her explanations, we had a memorable two-day trip to Suzhou and Tongli water towns.

Martin our guide on this segment of our trip was just a good as the other 2. Patient, attentive and flexible. The places we visited were interesting and he even accommodated us to go eat xialongbao. He had us discover other food. We enjoyed his knowledge and all he had to offer above and beyond his duty, including helping us with navigating the subway for the next day when he was no longer taking care of us. I also highly recommend Martin (0804).

We loved our two day tour of Shanghai, which is just the start of our two week holiday in China. Our guide Qi was full of knowledge and enthusiasm. She was very helpful in explaining history and local customs. We tried many different foods (actually we ate a lot!). Highlights for us were the views from Shanghai Tower, breakfast at the local market and the visits to Old Town and Zhujiajiao ancient water town.

My family of four (2 teenagers) enjoyed two days of touring Shanghai with Martin. We saw a ton of the city and got great tips for spending a day exploring on our own. I particularly enjoyed Martin’s film knowledge and the list he shared of great Chinese cinema.

Shanghai with the excellent Karen. Karen was our guide in Shanghai, she was very friendly, thoughtful and knowledgeable. She really listened to what we would like to do and went above and beyond to take us to different places that we greatly enjoyed.

Когда собирались, гадали, что нас ждёт, но реальность оказалась выше всяких ожиданий. Инфраструктура на высшем уровне, организация туризма вызывает уважение. Как быстро тут справляются с гигантскими очередями - фантастика. Да, людей и очередей много, всё-таки сезон, но, опять же, за счёт организации потоков туристов, этого чаще всего просто не замечаешь. Виды - просто бомба! Это невероятно красиво! Везде, куда ни глянь. Одно дело смотреть фильм, другое - увидеть это всё вживую. Рекомендую Джанцзяцзе однозначно тем, кто любит природу, потрясающие виды, горы и классную атмосферу. Отдельное спасибо гиду Эбби. Всё рассказывает, при этом как-то ничего лишнего, всё по делу, и очень интересно. Ответила на все наши вопросы. Учла все наши пожелания в течение каждого дня. Как-то умудрялась провести нас 'тайными' тропам на некоторых маршрутам, чтоб было меньше туристов и лучше виды. Подарила нам приятные памятные подарки. Мне вообще принесла из дома китайских монеток (я коллекционирую, но тут нигде не найти). Очень обходительная и внимательная, и мне лично это очень непривычно после всех других гидов в других местах. Она даже запомнила в первый день предпочтения по кофе, у всех разные, и утром откуда-то нам его доставала заранее. Очень приятные впечатления, но мне иногда было жалко её, что так с нами возится :( Гиду 10 с плюсом по пятибальной шкале однозначно. В общем, писать могу ещё очень много, но, наверное, закончу тем, что всё было просто супер! Спасибо!

What a beautiful area Zhangjiajie is! Our guide Anna was very thoughtful and took the time to show us her favourite places away from the crowds. We loved the views and walking trails in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and the wonderful Tianmen Mountain. Make sure you include this place in your China holiday. We highly recommend China Highlights - they will tailor make an itinerary based on your interests and will take really good care of you.

My experience in Zhangjiajie was a very good & memorable one. My husband & I were for 3 days and we were so blessed with good weather and a good guide. The scenery is breathtaking and majestic. Our guide, David from Zhangjiajie, has introduced us a few interesting path to walk, which allows us to take many beautiful photos. David also entertained us with his beautiful singing. Zhangjiajie definitely worth the trip and David took good care of us.

I had so much fun! All the tours chosen by Leeky Li were planned perfectly and my sweet guide Anna, was like a loving and caring daughter. Mr. Yuan, our driver could not have been more helpful and cheerful.

This visit to Yunnan was 10 days long with stops at Dali, Lijiang, Shangri-La and Kunming. We had 4 different guides - Dali with Daisy, Shangri-La with Peter, Lijiang with Li and Kunming with Doyle. Our guides, Daisy, Peter and Doyle was outstanding in their service. They were sensitive to our needs, flexible when we wanted any changes and did their job with enthusiasm and pride. The measure of how good a travel agency provides their service is not only in the planning of the itinerary but the follow through with good guiding service. Our 7 days Yunnan trip with China Highlights started at Kunming then took us all the way to Dali, Lijiang and Shangri La. Visiting Yunnan in December during winter time was interesting, less crowded and most importantly enable us to see Yunnan in a different landscape. A special mention to our fantastic guides, May (in Kunming) and Sunny (in Dali) and their respective drivers who were personable and shared a wealth of knowledge and insights of the places we visited. They spoke good English, helpful with our requests and ensured that we were comfortable and satisfied with our tours. We will not hesitate to use China Highlights again for our next trip to China!

My family really enjoyed our time with Eleanor in Lijiang. She was able to pass on a lot of knowledge about her city which made the trip lots more interesting! We enjoyed having her guide us to amazing places. She was really attentive when one of us were feeling sick at the top of the mountain and provided us all with adaquete preparation for the 4000km+ altitude ascension.

We spent a fabulous week traveling through Yunnan. Our guides, Jack (Shangri la) Alice (Lijiang) Frank (Dali) and Rosemary (Kunming) all have deep knowledge of their cities and did an excellent job showing us their home areas. Our driver Mr Liu was also excellent taking us safely from place to place. This China Highlights trip was as advertised and we highly recommend it.

Our trip to Yunnan was amazing and there were a tonne of well thought out activities to entertain everyone. Our guides May (Kunming), Sally (Dali), Alice (Lijiang), Daniel (Lijiang), Pema (Shangri-La) and driver 尹光涛师傅 were very knowledgeable and thoughtful. We also made some ad hoc adjustments to the itinerary which was facilitated by the guides.

We did not know what to expect as this was as our first trip to China - we are into the outdoors so we picked Yunnan as a destination, as it was knownfor its scenic beauty. We had heard about China’s progress in the past 30 years, but that did not prepare us for the amazing infrastructure, the excellence of telecommunications what is essentially a remote part of China- Imagine perfectly paved mountain roads with not a single pothole and 5G signal even in the most unlikely of places - mountain tops, deep gorges etc . The tour destinations and highlights were amazing. Just when we thought we had reached the height of our tour the next day gave us more jaw dropping sights. We have traveled a lot all over the globe, but we must say this trip gave us the biggest bang for the buck in our experience Our tour organizer, China Highlights was great. - ours was a private tour, just the two of us - the car was comfortable and everything ran like clockwork. Every tour guide we had on each part of our tour deserve special mention: May from Kunming, Scarlett from Dali, Eleanor from Lijiang and Anna from Shangri-La displayed passion, knowledge and dedication to their role. They were motivated good natured, humorous, and anticipated our every need. They were always concerned about our comfort and satisfaction. Our Driver Mr. Wang who drove us from Dali to Shangri-La, was safe and steady. Given the wonderful service that we received from these individuals and from China Highlights, we are already planning our next trip to China within the next few months. China, we love you and wish we had discovered you sooner!

We booked a 9-day tour of Kunming-Dali-Lijiang-Shangri-la with China Highlights in late March with Leeky. We are very well taken care of by our guides: Lulu in Kunming, Scarlett in Dali, Martin in Lijiang, and Betsy in Shangri-la. All our guides are local people, which is a great advantage for their local knowledge. Be it local history, customs, food and shopping tips. This trip started in Kunming which is a mile high city and ascended higher and higher. Those who are not familiar with high altitude will be better off listening carefully to their advices. Special shout out to Scarlett, our guide in Dali who went out of her way to take care of us even after we moved on to another city.. She had very good burgers delivered to our hotel when we did not want to venture out for dinner. Hotels selected by China Highlights are all fine. Breakfasts at the hotels are all good, especially if you like Chinese breakfast. We think veggies and chicken meat are much tastier than back home. Late March could be colder than forecast at times. While we were there, most flower blooms were pinkish. Cherry blossoms are at their peak together with crabapples. At Kunming Botanical Garden, there are more flower varieties to see. It’s off the beaten track however, accessible using the Didi app. It’s not crowded and it is very pleasant to walk there. Allow 2 hours for walking around.

Dali is a beautiful ancient town. We visited Er Hai 洱海, a huge lake. It was really scenic. Our guide, Frank, got us to walk along the lake. It was beautifully breathtaking. Frank filled us with a lot of interesting information about the place. We also learnt much about the culture of the land - the minority tribes, of which he belonged to one of them - Bai. Like us, Frank was a foodie and his recommendations were excellent, too. We also enjoyed our stay at Shaxi, a quaint ancient town in Dali, despite the fact that it was a little too commercialised. Nonetheless, it has many scenic places. Our trip would not have been that meaningful had not for Frank. Thank you, Frank! I think this private tour by China Highlights is a really enjoyable one.

One of the highlights was strawberry picking, and the farmers market was such an exciting experience! We also got to try our hand at making tie-dye prints, which was so much fun. We visited a Chinese embroidery shop and ended up buying some beautiful pieces. Of course, we couldn’t miss the Three Pagodas, which were absolutely stunning. And our first-ever tea-tasting experience was amazing—plus, we brought some tea home to remember it by!

We had a phenomenal trip of Dali and Shaxi with Daisy. She was kind, courteous, smiling, on time and constantly went out of her way to accommodate and help us with anything and everything. She has in depth understanding of the area, history, things to do, where / what to eat, historical perspective, good locations for photographs, and much more. Can't recommend her enough for Dali and Shaxi, 5 stars all the way!!

We toured Shangri-La with our guide Peter. There were many last min changes to our itinerary due to inclement weather but Peter was very flexible and able to accommodate the requests. He was also very knowledgeable abt the area ans enthusiasm was great! Thank you for making our trip a memorable one, Peter!

We were in Kunming with May. She is excellent, both helpful, knowledgeable and personable. We would certainly recommend her to guide whoever goes to Kunming.

My friends and I had just completed a 9-day tour of Yunnan, customized for 4 of us; transport, accommodation, and itinerary, all meticulously arranged by Carrie of China Highlights. My husband and I had the best time in Huangshan with our guide, Tony. We were very lucky that the weather was clear when we were on the mountain because the views we had were incomparable! Tony also told us the best spot to experience sunrise on the mountain which was absolutely magical and 100% worth the hour of hiking in the dark. Tony was also an extremely kind and knowledgeable guide with so much insight, not only of the mountain, but also the local people and the surrounding area. He ensured that we had the best time and were safe at all time, especially when taking on the more challenging climb. We only managed to stay here for 2 nights but will definitely return for a longer stay and explore the rest of the hiking trail we didn't manage to explore this time around!

We got amazing views to the mountains and our guide Tony helped us get many spectacular views including the sunset by tailoring our itinerary as per the local conditions. Whether it was the enchanting beauty of West Lake, the spiritual serenity of Lingyin Temple, her storytelling made each destination even more special. Beijing with Jiang We had an incredible experience on my tour of Beijing, and a huge part of that was thanks to our amazing guide, Jiang. From the start, he was incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to make sure our group was comfortable and informed. He patiently answered all our questions, no matter how many we had, and his knowledge of Beijing’s rich history and culture was absolutely impressive. Not only was Jiang well-versed in the city’s historical landmarks, but he also offered fantastic food recommendations that allowed us to dive deeper into Beijing’s culinary culture. His suggestions were spot-on, and we got to taste some of the best local dishes! His friendly demeanor and thorough understanding of the city made the entire experience unforgettable. We were in Chengdu for a good time, not a long time, and our guide Helen made sure of it. She is super interesting and fun and intuitive, and takes incredibly good care of her group at every level: I don’t think there is anything she can’t or won’t do for you. Travelling with multiple generations can be tricky, but Helen caught on to our dynamic right away and kept everyone happy and tuned-in, from the panda experience to chilling in the park. Such a fantastic experience all-around.

Hangzhou is a beautiful city. Our guide was Derek from China Highlights, who is a very smart and well educated person. He knows a lot not only about history but also all kind of subjects. Derek is also very very very kind, and patience. We changed a little our itinerary because we wanted to know other things, and he completely understood what we wanted. Thank you Derek!!
