Hohhot Railway Station

Buses 5 and 28 transfer passengers between these two railway stations, taking 1 hour and costing 1 CNY. If you take a taxi, it takes about half an hour and costs 25 CNY.
Travel by Airplane
For such a long distance, taking a flight is the fastest way to travel from Shanghai to Hohhot. It takes about 2½ hours. Usually, four flights are available daily from Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport to Hohhot Baita International Airport and two flights from Shanghai Pudong International Airport.
A flight costs approximately 285 USD and discounts are sometimes available, such as 20% off. You should check the ticket prices as early as possible to see if any discounts are available.
