Train Travel Tips
There are no high-speed trains operating between these two cities. If you would like to shorten the journey duration, you can consider transferring to a high-speed train in Lanzhou or Zhangye.
Since there is only one pair of normal-speed trains running between Xi'an and Dunhuang, please book your train tickets as early as possible to secure them.
There are no direct public buses from Dunhuang Railway Station to the Mogao Caves but you can consider taking a taxi. The cost is about 20 CNY and the distance is about 18 kilometers (11 miles).
