Two pairs of high-speed trains have been operational since 2024. Normal-speed trains are also available between Xi'an and Urumqi, with ten pairs in service daily. Z trains are the fastest of these with a journey duration of 24 hours while K trains are the slowest normal-speed trains with a journey duration of 30 to 36 hours.
