The Dazu Rock Carvings are concentrated in five main areas, with Baodingshan and Beishan cavings are the most impressive. Firstly we'll visit the Baodingshan area.
The Dazu Baodingshan Rock Carvings are located northeast of Dazu District. Although it's only 500 meters long, it's densely packed with tens of thousands of exquisitely crafted stone sculptures. Many of these carvings are painted, showcasing the skill of the ancient craftsmen. They used a stunning array of colors in blues, greens, reds, and even gold leaf.

The most famous Reclining Buddha, one is the world's largest half-reclining Buddha statue. It symbolizes the state of Nirvana in Buddhism and symbolizes the nirvana and transcendence of Sakyamuni Buddha.

Thousand-Armed Avalokiteshvara is a massive statue with 830 arms, each holding a Buddhist ritual object, weapon, or farming tool. Wheel of Samsara describes cycle of birth, death, and rebirth, driven by desire and ignorance. A demonic figure turns the wheel, propelling beings through the six realms of existence.

We'll take a break for lunch. The lunch fee is not included.
Continue to visit the Dazu Rock Carvings Museum, a grottoes-themed museum covering an area of 6,500 square meters. It is the largest professional grotto temple museum in China. It primarily houses relics from the outdoor grotto temples in the Dazu Rock Carvings scenic area, along with nearly 500 artifacts from the collection. The centerpiece of the museum is a Southern Song Dynasty statue of Shakyamuni Buddha, a national first-class cultural relic.

The Beishan Rock Carvings, situated 1.5 kilometers north of Longgang Town in Dazu, occupy a 500-meter area divided into north and south sections. This expansive site showcases over 5,000 meticulously crafted sculptures, like Avalokiteshvara with Rosary, Marici, the Warrior Goddess, the Largest Water-Moon Avalokiteshvara which is most well-preserved statue of Avalokiteshvara meditating on the reflection of the moon in water and Wheel of Dharma Sutra Cave, etc.
