The Guilin–Hangzhou train route is very popular with both foreign travelers and Chinese tourists.

Seven pairs of trains operate daily on this route. Three pairs of them are G category high-speed trains. The shortest journey duration is 7 hours 51 minutes on train G1501 from Hangzhou East Railway Station to Guilin North Railway Station. The second-class seats cost 589.5 CNY (85 USD) per ticket.

Seat Types on G Trains

As you can see from the train schedule tables above, the journey on this route takes over 7 hours on G trains. It is very important to have a comfortable journey when traveling by train. There are three types of seats on G trains:

1. Business class is the highest class available on high-speed trains. It is the most expensive class but also the most comfortable, especially for long train journeys.

First class is comfortable and offers more space than second class.

Second class is the most economical and the facilities are better than those on normal-speed trains.
