When winter comes, take a day trip from Guilin City to simply enjoy Mao'er Mountain's snow wonderland decorated by ice and rime. But if watching the famed sunrise is your must, consider staying at the summit hotel for a smoother visit.

It needs to be noted that this raw beauty comes with rugged conditions. During weekends or holidays, narrow mountain roads face severe traffic congestion. Remember to depart promptly after the last light fades to avoid delays on the way back down.

However, the last near-vertical iron ladder is quite a challenge, requiring both hands and feet to ascend. But if you make it to the top, you'll be rewarded with a quiet, breathtaking view all to yourself.

The cable car transports you smoothly to the summit area within 10 minutes. From there, sturdy suspension bridges and a glass walkway let you walk safely above the valleys, offering 360-degree views of Yangshuo's iconic karst landscape.
Sunrise and sunset are best times to visit, when the light turns the peaks golden. You could also enjoy a great view during the rainy days, when mist often creates a "sea of clouds" effect, like a lively Chinese ink painting.
Langshi Village(浪石村): A Riverside Hiking Hub
- Location: about 2 hours' drive from West Street
- Admission: Free
Langshi VillageLangshi Village sits on the Li River's north bank in Yangshuo's most beautiful area. If you are planning a Li River hiking, Langshi Village is a must on the famous 20km hiking trail from Yangdi Pier to Xingping Ancient Town.
You could expect to see Langshi Village's old houses, flagstone paths, and historic gateways. Here, tall limestone peaks rise steeply from the bank, mirroring perfectly in the calm water. It's quieter than most spots but loved by hikers for the "Langshi Wonder" view along the riverfront.
However, if you are not interested in hiking, you can easily enjoy the scenery along the way by taking a 4-star Li River cruise, instead of driving all the way there.
