The Southeast Coast High-Speed Rail Corridor

The Southeast Coast High-Speed Rail Corridor, also known as the Hangzhou–Fuzhou–Shenzhen Passenger Railway. Starting from Hangzhou, then goes south along the southeast coast of China, passing through Ningbo, Wenzhou, Fuzhou, Xiamen, and Shanwei to Shenzhen.

It links the the provinces of Zhejiang, Fujian, and Guangdong, connecting the Yangtze River Delta on the East China Sea to the Pearl River Delta on the South China Sea.

The Hangzhou–Fuzhou–Shenzhen Passenger Railway is composed of five constituent lines: Hangzhou–Ningbo High-Speed Railway, Ningbo–Taizhou–Wenzhou Railway, Wenzhou–Fuzhou Railway, Fuzhou–Xiamen Railway and Xiamen–Shenzhen Railway, which are all now in operation.

Hangzhou–Ningbo High-Speed Railway

  • Opened: July 1st, 2013
  • Length: 150 kilometers (93 miles)
  • Terminals: Hangzhou East Railway Station, Ningbo Railway Station
  • Duration: approx. 1 hour
  • Train schedule: 90 high-speed trains per day (departing from 06:33 to 21:24)
  • Main stops: Hangzhou, Shaoxing, Yuyao, Ningbo

Construction on the Hangzhou–Ningbo High-Speed Railway began on April 1st, 2009. The project lasted for 4 years and this railway was put into service in 2013.

It starts from Hangzhou East and ends at Ningbo Railway Station, with trains reaching a top speed of 300 kph (186 mph). This railway offers stunning scenery to passengers, especially when it passes Hangzhou Bay, the Qiantang River, and some small towns in South Yangtze River area.

Ningbo–Taizhou–Wenzhou High-Speed Railway

  • Opened: September 28th, 2009
  • Length: 282 kilometers (175 miles)
  • Terminals: Ningbo Railway Station, Taizhou Railway Station, Wenzhou South Railway Station
  • Duration: Ningbo–Taizhou: approx. 1 hour; Taizhou–Wenzhou: approx. 1 hour.
  • Main stops: Ningbo, Ninghai, Taizhou, Wenling, Wenzhou

The Ningbo–Taizhou–Wenzhou High-Speed Railway links the three cities of Ningbo, Taizhou, and Wenzhou. It is one of the most important rail lines in Zhejiang Province, providing both passenger and freight services.

There are 15 stops along the way and it connects the Hangzhou–Ningbo High-Speed Railway at Ningbo Railway Station and the Wenzhou–Fuzhou High-Speed Railway at Wenzhou South Railway Station.

Wenzhou–Fuzhou High-Speed Railway

  • Opened: August, 2005
  • Length: 295 kilometers (183 miles)
  • Terminals: Wenzhou South Railway Station, Fuzhou South Railway Station
  • Duration: approx. 2 hours
  • Train schedule: 35 high-speed trains per day (departing from 07:18 to 20:08)
  • Main stops: Wenzhou, Xiapu, Fu'an, Luoyuan, Lianjiang, Fuzhou

Opened in 2009, the Wenzhou–Fuzhou High-Speed Railway is an electrified railway linking Wenzhou in Zhejiang Province to Fuzhou in Fujian Province. The shortest travel time between these two cities is only 1 hour and 53 minutes.

The terrain where the Wenzhou–Fuzhou High-Speed Railway is located includes a coastal plain of hills and mountain valleys, with bridges and tunnels accounting for 78% of the total line.

Fuzhou–Xiamen Railway

  • Main stops: Fuzhou, Fuqing, Putian, Quanzhou, Xiamen

The Fuzhou–Xiamen Railway was built along the seaside, providing charming views outside the trains' windows on the way. It starts from the stations of Fuzhou or Fuzhou South and ends at Xiamen North Station.

It has 12 stops along the way: Fuzhou, Fuzhou South, Fuqing, Hanjiang, Putian, Xianyou, Hui'an, Quanzhou, Jingjiang, Xiamen North, Xiamen Gaoqi, and Xiamen.

Xiamen–Shenzhen Railway

The Xiamen–Shenzhen Railway connects Xiamen in Fujian Province to Shenzhen in Guangdong Province. There are eight stations along the line. It was constructed in 2007 and opened in 2013. The top operating speed is 250 kph (155 mph).
