Things to Do in Hangzhou in November
Visit the West Lake International Expo
Beautiful corridors and pavilions in West Lake ParkWest Lake Expo: This high tech trade fair is held annually at West Lake in October or November. It is important for the global high technology market, and it is one of China's biggest trade fairs. Up to 50,000 business people and millions of visitors come to make business deals, find jobs, or buy high tech products from around the world. Millions of visitors want to see the high technology products on display, and dozens of seminars and discussion meetings are attended by the conference goers.
The exposition center is 300,000-square meters in area, and hundreds of booths and displays are set up by company representatives and organizations. There is a lot for the average visitor to learn and enjoy. The expo includes art displays, cultural festivities, musical performances, excursions, and an undergraduate technology fair among other features.
See West Lake Park: The technology exposition is set in the 63 square kilometer (23 square mile) area municipal park that is Hangzhou's favorite tourist attraction. It is free to enter. The lake is 15 kilometers (9 miles) around, and you can go for extended walks, rent, and ride bikes or boats. There are many restaurants where you can dine in the West Lake (Xihu) area.
Recreation at Moganshan
Moganshan: See the fall scenery at Moganshan after the October crowds are gone. The best way to enjoy this mountain of woods, bamboo groves, little villages, and tea farms is in solitude. Rent a cabin or a room in a villa and relax and enjoy a casual hike and sightsee the Western-style buildings.
The mountain is a 1.5 hour drive from Hangzhou. It was once a favorite retreat center for Chinese government officials and foreigners. Foreigners built many villas and houses, and they also built swimming pools and tennis courts about a hundred years ago. Some of the bigger villas are now hotels. The peak is appreciably cooler at 724 meters (2,375 feet), and you can go for extended hikes in beautiful autumn countryside scenery in early November.

West LakeThe weather is cooler, and there are no big holidays in November. So tourism drops off in November compared to September and October. However, Hangzhou is such a popular tourist destination that many tourists still visit in November.
