The Lesser Three Gorges: A fine time to visit is in spring when everything is green. Both the water and the landscape are green. The color contrasts with the muddy brown color of the Yangtze. The scenery is better than at the big Three Gorges. The green canyon walls tower above the river.
Shop at Ciqikou
Ciqikou Old Town: Spring is a good time to wander around and sightsee in the large old city center of Chongqing. There are less crowds and much less rain before the heat of summer. The old buildings in this area have been preserved. Tourists like the local spicy hot snacks and yoghurt and hunt for bargains in the shops.

Wulong Karst: This famed natural park has large caves and three natural stone bridges. It is four hours from Chongqing. It is World Heritage Listed. April is a good time to go for hiking and touring before the heat and heavy rain of summer.
