Day 1: Arrive in Beijing

Not accustomed to long distance travel? We’ll pick you up at the airport and take you to your hotel so the rest of the day is yours to rest or explore.

There are cities on this tour that have bus tours where you share a coach with people from other hotels. The bus tour guides always confirms the time you will be picked up the night before.

Day 2: Beijing: The Iconic Sites

The first stop is famous Tiananmen Square, the next the adjoining Forbidden City, a home to 24 emperors in its time, built to impress.
The Temple of Heaven is lesser known, but just as imposing. The surrounding park is full of people practicing martial arts and Chinese dance, among other things. On the way you have a chance to see a glimpse of the Chinese traditional medicine culture.
After Chinese lunch in a local restaurant, relax in the peaceful Summer Palace, an ancient imperial garden used by emperors to escape the heat of summer.

 
Day 3: Beijing: Great Wall and overnight train to Xi’an

After admiring the ancient Ming Tombs and lunch, climb up to the iconic Badaling Great Wall or get the optional cable car, giving you more time to admire the scenery.
On the way back pass the Olympic Green, and admire from afar the "Bird’s Nest" and “the Water Cube”. The last stop before getting back to your hotel is the workshop where the art of silk making is revealed to you.
Later in the evening our guide will take you to the train station and help you board the train to Xian.

 
Day 4: Xi’an: Ancient Culture of Xian Tour

After you arrive to Xian and have refreshed in your hotel, the first stop is Shaanxi Historical Museum, where items from the Silk Road and other ancient relics are sure to impress.
Today ends at Wild Goose Pagoda, and the Islamic mosque, famous for combining traditional Muslim and Chinese styles. After the tour, you will be taken back to your hotel.

 
Day 5: Xi’an: Terracotta Warriors and overnight train to Guilin

Admire today one of the wonders of the world: the Terracotta Warriors and Horses, each of the life-sized sculptures are unique. Learn about their original bright colors.
After lunch, visit Banpo ancient village site, where the life of ordinary people thousands of years ago comes alive.
In the evening you will be taken to the train station for the train to Guilin, home of cormorant fishermen.

 
Day 6: Arrive in Guilin

Enjoy the varied scenery on board the train; this line has some of the best. When you arrive in the evening, you will be taken directly to your hotel from the train station, so you can rest and recuperate.

 
Day 7: Guilin: Li River Cruise and Yangshuo
Guilin Li River Cruise

Glide along the Li River, taking in the beautiful mountains in comfort. A simple buffet lunch is served on the ship, however it does not always measure up to our high standards, so we recommend a good breakfast.
After arriving in Yangshuo you have a chance to walk along the winding streets, and see some of the natural surroundings in this village town. We will transfer you back to your hotel in the late afternoon.

 
Day 8: Guilin: Famous Sights and Depart Guilin
Guilin Reed Flute Cave

The last day of your tour you will see the natural wonders of Guilin: Reed Flute Cave, Elephant Trunk Hill, and Fubo (Whirlpool) Hill. After lunch we take you back to your hotel and then take you to the airport, where our guide will help you handle the check-in.
In Guilin we offer alternatives to the classics, such as a visit to the tea plantation, a fisherman’s boat home or a charming tearoom, a chance to discover Chinese tea culture. Ask your travel advisor about customizing the tour.
