We spent 3 days in Hangzhou and we couldn't be happier. We visited awesome places like Lingyin Temple, the west lake and the China Silk Museum thanks to the fantastic explanations of our guide Tim (who fortunately speaks English more than fluently) a very knowledgeable and nice guy who made the visits always full of interesting but never boring explanations...I wish I had teachers like that!!!

Hangzhou and Wuzhen were part of our 10-day Shanghai-Hangzhou-Suzhou tour planned by China Highlights. Our local guide Susan - a Hangzhou native, was friendly, professional and shared with us the history, stories and food highlights of Hangzhou. From the boat ride on West Lake, tasting tea at Meijiawu, seeing the view from Chenghuangge, buying traditional (and modern) wares at Qinghefang street, visiting Hu Xueyan's mansion, to Wuzhen's scenic water town, Susan gave us many interesting bits of information at each place. She ordered a selection of local specialties for lunch on both days, all delicious and many we haven't tried before. Too bad we couldn't finish the food! She also gave us tips on what to buy and places to see and eat at in our spare time outside of the tour. Susan also made sure all our transfers and check-ins were smooth. Some kid-friendly experiences were fun for my 2 boys - tea brewing and tasting ceremony at Meijiawu, and clay pot making/painting at Wuzhen. We especially liked Wuzhen's picturesque vibe, with lots of interesting collated history and craft displays (e.g. lotus feet shoes, indigo cloth dye). Thanks to Susan and China Highlights for an enjoyable trip to Hangzhou and Wuzhen!

Derek did a terrific job guiding us around the sights of Hangzhou and giving us outstanding restaurant tips. Also, my niece was not feeling well and Derek was prepared to take us to see a doctor if necessary. My niece enjoyed learning about the local education system from him.

We recently travelled to Hangzhou and had a fabulous time exploring the West Lake area which was absolutely beautiful. Our tour guide, Jill, was very friendly and helpful and very knowledgeable. She planned a wonderful tour around her city and took us to the old town market street and treated us to the local dumplings. We also enjoyed the Hangzhou Memories show at West Lake. That was quite an impressive evening show! The next day she drove us to Xitang and showed us all around this water town and found a great place for lunch where she helped us order lunch. Jill was very kind and thoughtful and took good care of us while in Hangzhou.

We had an amazing trip to Shanghai, Suzhou ang Hangzhou. China highlights organised the whole trip very well. Special thanks to Sophie who planned the trip for us. Derek, our tour guide in Hangzhou was a gem. He was very knowledgeable and very helpful. He spoke very good English. We had a great time thanks to Derek who took care of all our needs.

We had the pleasure of touring with our guide who calls himself Eleven. He is engaging and energetic.. highly recommend

Our family had a wonderful time in Hangzhou touring the West Lake, the tea plantations and Hefang Street. Derek was a terrific tour guide with excellent recommendations for restaurants and very helpful. We would highly recommend!!

I had a great time in Hangzhou thanks to China Travel. My guide Susan was very helpful and all my staying in the city was awesome. I loved that I had a second guide specialized in Museums and both guides took me to admire the amazing museums of the city.

Beijing with Jiang We had an incredible experience on my tour of Beijing, and a huge part of that was thanks to our amazing guide, Jiang. From the start, he was incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to make sure our group was comfortable and informed. He patiently answered all our questions, no matter how many we had, and his knowledge of Beijing’s rich history and culture was absolutely impressive. Not only was Jiang well-versed in the city’s historical landmarks, but he also offered fantastic food recommendations that allowed us to dive deeper into Beijing’s culinary culture. His suggestions were spot-on, and we got to taste some of the best local dishes! His friendly demeanor and thorough understanding of the city made the entire experience unforgettable. If you’re looking for a knowledgeable, patient, and thoughtful guide, Jiang is the perfect choice

We were in Chengdu for a good time, not a long time, and our guide Helen made sure of it. She is super interesting and fun and intuitive, and takes incredibly good care of her group at every level: I don’t think there is anything she can’t or won’t do for you. Travelling with multiple generations can be tricky, but Helen caught on to our dynamic right away and kept everyone happy and tuned-in, from the panda experience to chilling in the park. Such a fantastic experience all-around.

Hangzhou is a beautiful city. Our guide was Derek from China Highlights, who is a very smart and well educated person. He knows a lot not only about history but also all kind of subjects. Derek is also very very very kind, and patience. We changed a little our itinerary because we wanted to know other things, and he completely understood what we wanted. Thank you Derek!!

The views at Hangzhou were amazing, Derek our tour guide from China Highlights was awsome, very knowledgeable, and loved the food at the local restaurants he suggested.

Six fantastic days of welcome: It is all about how great the guides/hosts are: Jason is a very amiable person. Well informed. Reads a lot which has helped him current on global affairs. I was impressed. Eleven personifies warmth and enthusiasm. Very proud of Chinese culture. Nasreen & I wish them all the best.

Susan (our guide) is so cooperative with everything that we needed, she explained a lot of aspects of the ways the Chinese culture.The tea plantation has to be the most beautiful part of the itinerary, it's just so beautiful and meeting the local woman (can't recall her name) where she showed us what tea means to the Chinese culture (it's not just a drink) and scenery was just breathtaking. The guide will always make the difference in any itinerary, and Susan made the difference in this one. Would definitely recommend it. Thanks

Sehr interessante Tour von Jill! In einem Tag hat sie uns durch die sch?nsten Orte geführt! Es war stets kurzweilig. Das Englisch war hervorragend.

Wir haben einen Tagesausflug von Shanghai aus nach Hangzhou gemacht. Es war ein absolut beeindruckendes Erlebnis! Bereits die Fahrt mit dem High Speed Train war irre. Unsere Führerin Jill hat uns zuverl?ssig vom Bahnhof abgeholt. Mit dem Minibus ging es an den Westsee, zum Lingyin Tempel und in die Altstadt. Jill war sehr kompetent und ist bereitwillig auf unsere Wünsche eingegangen. Im Tempel waren sehr viele Menschen, Jill kannte alle Schleichwege und hat uns geschickt durch die Menge gelotst. Sie war st?ndig in Kontakt mit unserem Fahrer, so dass wir nie warten mussten. Absolut empfehlenswert!

The trip to Hangzhou was the most enjoyable for my family. The itinerary was well planned and the tour guide 章珂烨 was one of the best that we have come across.She’s bubbly, keen and enthusiastic. She went out of her way to ensure we had a great trip and experience. What impresses me is that she knew that we never had experience taking the high speed rail to Shanghai and she spent time to explain to us and even drew out a map of the checks that we are going to encounter. We went to visit the tea plantation and had a great time at 娜娜’s home. 娜娜 was also great at explaining about tea and the processes involved.

Susan, our guide in Hangzhou was very friendly and knowledgeable about the places that we visited. We had a fun and interesting 3 days at Hangzhou.

This is our third times to Hangzhou and as usual we only want Leaf as our tour guide,because she is fun, caring, knows Hangzhou history very well, and can speak English fluently. For me Hangzhou is the best city in the world. Safe, comfortable tolive in, clean, no air pollution, and the people are nice

Just had a lovely 2 days touring the great sites in Hangzhou…truly a lovely place steeped in culture and history..I particularly enjoyed the tour of the West Lake and got to sample some of the local delicacies..our tour guide Susan did a great job and because she has a great and bubbly personality, our tour was never boring…would definitely recommend this..also please ask for Susan…

Lulu, our professional, friendly & extremely knowledgeable guide was waiting early at airport arrivals for us, & Jenna our safe & competent driver was waiting at curbside. Lulu assisted with checking us in at our hotel. Lulu is very passionate about sharing the history & culture with us of her beloved homeland of Hangzhou as she kept us engaged throughout our 2 day tour starting at the Former Hu Xueyan Residence. It is easy to get lost at this huge mansion without a guide. Lulu knew her way around the maze of rooms, beautiful gardens, pavilions, & described the intricate details of the architecture & the meaning behind each symbol. Next, Hu Qing Yu Tang Chinese Medicine Museum, Hefang Street, Boat Ride at West Lake, Dragon-Well Tea Plantation, Ancient Village Wuzhen Watertown (East & West Area). The watertown has many museums; woodcarving, coin, ancient beds, wine distillery, folk customs, too many to list, an indigo fabric workshop, & a memorial of famed novelist Mao Dun, (one of the founders of the CCP) at his former residence & hometown. The endless artifacts to see within the enclave of the watertown is rich in history. The cozy restaurants & dishes that Lulu selected each day was so delicious. Hangzhou was the host city for the 2023 Asian Games. Also, Hangzhou was 1 of 7 Capitals in China, is when we learned from Lulu about our Ancestors from Northern Song Dynasty in Kaifeng, once the Capital City in Henan Province. On our last night, Lulu went above & beyond & took us to a Chinese pharmacy to buy a needed cold/cough medicinal remedy that helped to suppress a cough that soon subsided. The last day, Lulu assisted us with our high speed rail departure. With our business class seats, she confirmed with the HSR staff that we would be escorted to the correct platform to board our train to our next destination in Shanghai. That was a tremendous relief. We can’t thank you enough Lulu, and truly appreciate all your informative, kind, caring & attentive tour guide service that exceeded our expectations!

Our trip in Hangzhou is an excellent and the most memorable one, largely due to our tour guide Derek. He is an enthusiasts person. Along the tour he explained very well and has a vast knowledge of the site history even China history. He is very attentive, professional and also very passionate with his job. So our trip in Hangzhou feel very easy, light and enjoyable. I think any guests who will be guided by him will be satisfied. He is excellent and perfect ..Thank you very much ...
