HK-Beijing-Wuhan-Guilin-HK
We travelled first to Beijing for a few days before moving on to Wuhan for the wedding and then for a few days in Guilin along with my son and daughter in law. It was a great trip and all went smothly with the help of the guides we had along the way. William in Beijing and Jenny in Guilin were excellent. Chas in HK was also very helpful in getting us to the right place and the right time to fly home. more

This is the second time we have used China Highlights. The first was in 2015 and that went very well, so I had no worried about using them again this time. My son lives and works in Beijing and has married a Chinese lady from Beijing. This was suppose to happen during Easter 2020 and all had to be postponed. We wanted to travel out for the wedding reception in her home town outside of Wuhan. This time it meant organising a trip for 6 of us, including 2 children. It was very complicated trip and we had to change the itinerary several times, mainly due to the difficulty in getting flights from UK. However, Alisa from China Highlights was very good and made all the changes very efficiently. more

A Full Program in Beijing!
Yet another fabulous #ChinaHighlights vacation designed by Zac. Our Spring Break destination 2 of 3 was the capital city 北京市 and did not disappoint! Led by the amazing Sunny (老师+ tour guide) we packed in a week’s worth of tours in only 3 days! Tiananmen + The Forbidden City, Peking duck & Hutong food tour, The Great Wall, Summer Palace, Hutong Chinese Paper Cutting, Temple of Heaven et al. So grateful that we FINALLY made it to the Great Wall (because how can you really say that you’ve been to China without going there)?!? more

Amazing 2 day tour in Beijing
The tour itself was great, private driver to and from, my guide Ivy was great English speaking guide. She was very knowledgeable and passionate about her country. Was a great time exploring the Great Wall of china and then my second day did a city tour (forbidden city, hutong tour, summer palace). Felt extremely safe, and was confident having an English guide). Thank you china highlights. more

Alisa from China Highlights …
I would like to recommend China highlights for the wonderful memories they have helped carve out over the last 5 years with my family. In particular our wonderful memories and highlights would not have been possible if it wasn’t for Alisa from China highlights who carefully planned out all of our trips in a personal way making sure she catered for all my family’s needs. She was brilliant in responding to all emails and quick in making changes . more

Suggested Itinerary
Feel relaxed from the moment you arrive, as our guide and driver will meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel.
Good to Know
Group Tours: On the group tours included in some of the cities you will be picked you up at the hotel; our guide will confirm the time each night before the tour.
Start your day standing on the awe-inspiring Tiananmen Square. Then move on to the Forbidden City, the most famous imperial palace in China, maybe the world!
More unknown but just as magnificent is the Temple of Heaven, where the emperors of old would sacrifice for good harvest. On the way you will have a chance to get to know the Chinese traditional medicine culture.
A Chinese lunch, and then breathe the fresh air in the Summer Palace, surrounded by lakes and mountains. It's easy to understand why the emperors' choose this as their summer residence.

Stand on one of the wonders of the world, the Badaling Great Wall, and see it snake into the distance. On the way you will have a chance to see the oldest imperial tombs from the Ming Dynasty, have lunch before heading back to the city.
While resting your feet onboard the bus from the walk on the Great Wall, you will catch a glimpse of the Olympic Green, the National Stadium - the Bird's Nest, and the National Aquatics Center – the Water Cube, before returning to your hotel.

Enjoy your free morning in Beijing. Transfer to train station for high-speed train to Xi'an, which takes about four and a half hours on the fast and comfortable train.
Upon arrival, meet your Xi'an guide and transfer to hotel.
One of the most memorable experiences in China waits: seeing the Terracotta Warriors and Horses. Each one is subtly different; some say they must have been based on real people. After lunch you visit Banpo ancient village with thousands of years of history.

Transfer to airport for flight to Guilin. Upon arrival, your Guilin guide will greet you at the arrival hall and transfer to hotel for check-in.
A cruise down the Li River from Guilin to Yangshuo offers stunning natural scenery along the way. Between spectacular limestone peaks you'll see graceful bamboo groves, farmers tending rice paddies, and lumbering water buffaloes pulling carts or cooling off in the river. Simple lunch is provided onboard. Arrive at Yangshuo pier at around 2 pm (depending on water level and weather). After strolling along the narrow roads on the Yangshuo Market, transfer back to your hotel in Guilin.

You will have a full morning to see the beautiful city of Guilin by yourself. In the afternoon, your guide and driver will escort you to train station for bullet train to Guangzhou, which takes no more than 3 hours of comfortable ride. After arrival, meet your Guangzhou guide and transfer to hotel.
Guangzhou was not always the metropolitan city it is now; you get to see a glimpse of the history through visits to the Chen Family Temple, Lizhiwan canal area and Qing Ping Market. Ranked by our customers and those on TripAdvisor as one of the best attractions in the city.
After lunch, visit the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, built in memory of the founder of the first Chinese republic, and the Six Banyan Pagoda.

We will escort you from your hotel to the train station, ensuring your catch the direct though train to Hong Kong. Upon arrival, meet your Hong Kong guide and transfer to hotel.
The rest of the day is left free to exlpre the city by yourself. For things to do while in Hong Kong, see our web page: https://www.chinahighlights.com/hong-kong/. Most service people speak good English.
We recommend Temple Street night market in Kowloon near you hotel, open from 4pm to midnight. There is an astonishing variety of clothing, electronic gadgets, luggage etc. Even if you're not into shopping, the narrow streets and atmosphere are an experience to remember.

Continue to explore Hong Kong by yourself. For retail therapy we recommend Causeway Bay, one of the largest concentrations of shopping and entertainment complexes.
